Head of K2 Ukraine Krassyuk sees Huck as most likely opponent for Usyk, he also mentioned Perez.
Usyk's fight will be in September.

Thanks. So according to that link,

    Briedis vs Kudryashov
    Gassiev vs Wlodarczyrk
Usyk vs Huck (or maybe Perez)

    leaving

Dorticos vs Perez (or maybe Huck)

I just realized that Wlodarczyk is the mandatory to Gassiev. That's why he had to be in, otherwise he can force Gassiev to vacate or leave the tournament.

If I am Usyk I take Huck rather than Perez. Not only is Huck the better name to have on one's resume, Perez could be dangerous if he's in shape. He's only 31 and, when fat and out of shape, drew Takam, lost SD to Jennings at HW.

This makes the most sense, K2 have strong ties to Germany, a fight with Huck sells in both Germany or Ukraine.
And non titlists like Dorticos and Perez can battle each other.

K2 doesn't have a huge stable, but don't they still have Perez as well as Usyk? Seems like it'd be smarter business for them to try and keep both their guys in for a round rather than square them off immediately, but I'm an expert by no means.

Yes. I believe he has some arrangement with Hearn (although he is not in the stable), since Hearn pulled strings to get him in the WBSS instead of Glowacki.

No arrangement, Hearn just likes him. Hearn said, he isn't his fighter.

i didn't read the article, does that mean Briedis would be picking to fight Kudryashov first? fair play to him if it does

I know there's no formal arrangement or link, but I can't help feeling that either there is some informal understanding or something is planned.

Surprised Usyk hasn't come under more fire lately in all honesty, probably due to those types not caring about the CW division... They came out in droves bashing Lomachenko for his recent choice of opponent, you know the same guys who are quick to defend Mayweather/McGregor and every awful voluntary defense that Wilder or Stevenson have.

They did get the wrong Pole, but I'm simply more excited with Mike Perez in the tourney than not. Perez matchips will be more compelling than Glowacki matchups. Hugely unpredictable whether he has a huge advantage in strength, power, and chin as a former heavyweight or if the speed and skill advantage he had at heavy won't exist and will make him an ordinary cruiser. I think I'd favour him over everyone except Usyk, Briedis, and Gassiev, but it's so hard to say.
