There's a spiteful, mean streak in Taylor. That's not something I picked up on watching some of his higher profile amateur bouts on youtube, most of which he lost. It's a cliche but it's what you want to see in a prospect, especially one who looked like he'd be a pitter-patter specialist as a pro.

I think Davies fought very well considering the gulf in experience but it was just too soon. 2 or 3 years of hard work at euro/fringe world level might've made a big difference. Hopefully he'll build from the experience and the mistakes compiled.

I was at the fight and for about 10 horrible seconds I thought JT might be DQ'd.
Nothing would surprise me with Foster.

Foster was shouting at him to stop and did have to really pull him off.
To be honest the red mist did come down and he did want to hurt him.
But I f*cking loved it !!!!!

Sounds like the OP is all salty because his boy lost. How anybody could think Davies was better than Taylor is disgraceful boxing knowledge. It was as clear as day who the real fighter was.

Who wins the GGG vs Canelo m8?

 

If Canelo can handle GGG's strength and power he might be able to win on points. Canelo is strong and skilled but he's not a mover like Jacob's so GGG will have no problems closing him down. I can see Canelo looking great early but GGG will eventually weaken him with body shots and take over. GGG has brilliant technique and balance but he's robotic and not that hard to hit. Canelo has slick offence and has shown slick defence too since Floyd schooled him. I just think he's too flat footed to win against the physically stronger man. I think Canelo will land a lot but can he hurt GGG ? Will he be able to handle his strength and power for 12 ? I can see Golovkin's jab being a big problem for Canelo too.

It's a great fight. I have to go with the bigger man here, even though he's probably slightly past his best.

 

Not true, in recent World & European title fights we've seen Kovalev turn his back on Ward, Klitschko turn his back on Tyson Fury and David Price turn his back on Christian Hammer. All these guys had stellar amateur careers and have been professional champions at varying levels.

You can definitely expect to take a few shots like Fury laid on Wlad, if you turn your back.

But the idea that it doesn't happen even at the top level is wrong.

When your on the ropes square on you turn your back it's proper cowardly and not tactical or positional it's I've had enough thanks .
