Name me examples of fighters "with a puncher's chance" that actually won?

    The term puncher's chance is usually thrown out to fighters who don't usually have a chance of winning but if they could land that one good shot, they could win. Most of the time, fighters like this dont usually win.

    but....
    what are examples of fighters "with a puncher's chance" that actually won?

    Rahman. Wasnt much good really but could bang. Got lucky against Lewis, then was completely outclassed in the rematch.

    Lewis didn't take that first fight seriously at all and came in very heavy. He paid the price heavily

    The puncher's chance is kind of a misleading statement because you will always need the skill to time and deliver the punch, even in one small window that presents itself late in a fight. Heavy hands alone will never give you that chance. So I guess what the phrase really means is the puncher is good enough to land if the window presents itself, but it's a small one. It's not something that applies to every underdog.

    So McGregor for example doesn't even have a puncher's chance against Floyd. Maidana had a puncher's chance against Khan.
