I think he should have pulled out. I can't imagine him being in the right frame of mind. If he loses his belt he will probably feel his life has fallen apart. I would have pulled out personally
firstly my condolences to LS and all his family and family friends. Secondly, WOW, I know circumstances like this have happened before, probably most notably Buster Douglas but I couldn't imagine being in that sort of place mentally and fighting. But like Eubank Sr said this week (one of the few things I agree with him on) fighters are not normal people, it's takes a different type of person. Anyway, I wish Lee Selby all the very best and hope he gets through this fight unscathed and can get on with the far far far more important issues he has at hand.
It still takes balls. If he puts in a good performance without being mentally affected then even more so
I like Selby, hope he gets the job done and some big fights afterwards with the likes of Quigg or Frampton (beats both)
Listen I know - my mum died too you know. Back at work a few days later, no crowds, no applause -I had to do it for the money. Life is tough for all of us. We just have to get on with it. The only thing I would worry about in terms of Selbys welfare is if he loses the fight - losing his mum and his title same week.....not good.... (Still be cheering for Barros though!)
Awful for Selby, best of luck to him. I did put a cheeky few quid on Barros though as a big big betting underdog in this fight.
Hoping he can do it. But he's another cherrypick, too old and too far from home. Now with the Selby 'sympathy factor' its almost impossible Barros can win. Even if he does well I smell home cooking already....
Firstly, talk about kicking a man when he's down. Fair play and good luck to him for carrying on this Saturday. Secondly, this 'cherry pick' is his mandatory.
Well ok 'mandatory cherry pick' then! This guy has been beaten - but by very good guys. Gamboa, Mikey G, Caballero....he just might have a chance of pulling off the upset. I'll be cheering for Barros.
Here it is Selby fans - the weigh in: This content is protected Your hero fighting his mandatory! ( a tiny ancient midget thousands of miles from home)
Another dull performance. As soon as he faces a live young opponent who can exploit his porous defence, Selby is done.
