Yeah, and Stevenson and Ward, like Kovalev, have suspect chins. That's why they all hit the deck against this mediocre journeyman.

Shaky mandibles exist in boxing - and Kovalev, Stevenson, and Ward all have them. It remains to be seen who has the weakest chin. Right now, I'd say Stevenson. His chin is FRAGILE.

People keep talking about Kovalev's balls... show me Ward punching his balls prior to that last punch. Those were belt line shots, not nut shots.

Funny how before the fight it was impossible for Ward to hurt Kovalev. Now he's been exposed as not having a good chin. Some people need to stay away from chin checking, they're ignorant.

 

Surely? No I can't. Be more specific. You can't say "some" and then not give us an example. I've seen plenty of angles to see if any of Ward's shots were low and they weren't. It was a fight. Agbeko/Mares was blatant low blows. Kov/Ward's weren't. They were belt line shots. The minute I see a rabbit punch or genital shot I call it a foul. I saw no blatant fouls by either guy in this fight.

 

Ward isn't an "extremely" light puncher. That's just what you and some others might think. And Ward doesn't have to hit you on the chin to hurt you although he can.

Ward has always been a good body puncher and a good boxer. He wears you down or outboxes you. That's how Ward beats you. If anyone gets hit on the chin they can be hurt, wobbled or stopped. Anyone!

And this idea that Ward was running...are you talking about a preview of his road work before the fight? Because nobody saw him running at all. And it was the overall body work or Ward that hurt Kov.

Well certainly you can now believe why Kovalev revered his pal Golovkin so much,I mean wasn't this one sparring story that originated with Kovalev,I remember some folk doubting it as SK is a light heavyweight but that first fight against Ward even if SK did edge it,I realised that SK was just not capable of doing the stuff that Gennady does,at his range he's awesome but unlike GGG he doesn't seem able to box on the inside and he had no idea how to cut the ring off and of course as highlited here his chin and defo his body don't wanna take it or he wasn't prepared like GGG to take a few in order to get his own off.

Funny though how SK said after the first fight that Ward had no power and yet in the second it was so noticeable how his shots had more pop on em,I'm not a Ward fan actually but you gotta say he's one tough son of b and I could imagine him as a street fighting champion.

 

Have you seen the replay,makes that heavyweight years ago who got disqualified look tame,I've no doubt he'd of won anyway but at the end Ward knows where he hitting as his eyes are the target and he's just belting him at full power in the genitals,the look on his face is one of contempt lol

A light puncher is a light puncher in any weight class. The difference here is risk. Brand said that Ward couldn't punch. Brand took "0" risks and just covered up all night basically. Kov took risks which is why he got caught and hurt. I don't take guys like Brands opinion of Wards power as Gold.
