People on here are clueless. How could a boxer who lost to the domestic level Frank Grant http://boxrec.com/boxer/26707 by KO in a British title fight beat Canelo! Seriously c'mon!
Graham looked decent against C Level fighters, but he always had trouble at the highest level. Like most Ingle fighters his lack of defence will always catch up with them .He failed against the top fighters because top fighters expose mistakes and that Ingle style has lots. Graham was prone to lapses in concentration, didn't have the best chin, and lacked mental strength, also the bomber nickname doesn't make sense for a guy with only about a 50% KO ratio. He wasn't exactly the most exciting fighter to watch either, personally he bored me sleep! He's very overrated by Brits,The truth is that everytime he stepped into world class he failed miserably and lost every time. I really don't understand why some Brits talk like he is some ATG lol, He failed MISERABLY everytime he stepped up. His resume is weak, there's no notable wins there, Ayub Kalule is the only half decent win he has lol. He lost TWICE to Kalumbay, he lost to Mccallum, he got knocked out brutally by a blind Jackson, he was stopped by Frank Grant, got knocked out by Charles Brewer.! Some people who want us to believe that all the big super star names ducked him even though when he did get his chance at the big time he choked. Guys like Eubank and Benn were PROVEN world class fighters who took on all comers theres no way they would have ducked him lol it's hilarious to even suggest it. All the stupid sparring rumours are a joke, and anyway sparring is just sparring, The people who talk all these myths about Graham forget to mention Graham was knocked out in sparring by Eubank and and knocked out cold sparring Howard Eastman. He was a big game choker who would always find a way mentally to blow it. Graham came up short everytime he fought world class fighters ,there was nothing special about him at all, he was more flash than substance. He never won a won a world title he never beat a world class fighter,he gets most of his respect for what he did to Jackson in a fight that he didn't even win!! He's known for coming up short lol Get real people, this overrating of him is embarassing to read.
I'm a troll because you don't agree with what I'm saying ( which is the truth) Why are you so emotionally invested in Herol Graham to the point you have to reply to every single persons comment on this thread! Maybe you are Herol Graham himself or his family. Get real . Stop overrating him . He couldn't beat a world class fighter to save his life. He was a nearly man, nothing more, nothing less.
You tell people to have respect for Herol the nearly man Graham then you call Calzaghe ' Cowardzaghe' in your next sentence!
Joe Calzaghe and Herol graham were worlds apart, total opposites. You cannot put Herol in the same sentence as Calzaghe. Calzaghe was an all time great hall of famer exceptional all rounder who belonged at world level for a long long time, he always found a way to win with any style. Graham was a flawed, overrated nearly man who never had one world class win, even had losses at a lower level, he always found a way to lose.
Graham was a decent world class fighter, but he simply didn't have a decent chin - which is exactly why he didn't get the wins against top fighters. The record shows this clearly. Herol Graham is Exhibit A of why CHINS MATTER in boxing. If he had one, he likely would have won the fights he lost against top rated fighters. At the very least he would have won some of them!
You don't want to debate. There's no point in even pretending that you do. If I thought for one second that you were serious, then I'd gladly address each and every one of your points, one by one. But doing that would be a complete waste of my time. I don't mind people disagreeing with me. People having a difference of opinion is what makes debating so great. But look at what you've wrote. Look how you've laid out your post. You're everything that's wrong with this place.
Common sense would tell any person of normal intelligence not to go for the full count when the boxer is out cold like that..
It was 1990, pre-Watson, in those days the grass was greener, the summer was longer, the music was better, and when you went down you took your 10 count like a man.
El Pollo with would take his pecker and peck him in the testicles, weeks would stop the fight within a second, Tony Weeks and Bob Bennett would approve, however, El Pollo would only need to land on of his wing punches to stop him, but El Pollo has learned from SOB...........
