In all honesty I think Broner's career ended December 14, 2013. Just my opinion. Not to be rude, Because he's still fighting currently. But it seems like since that Maidana fight, It just hasn't been the same for him. Personally I don't think he'll ever get that fire/hype/following that he had Pre-Maidana. It's kinda like his career ended before it really began. It's ji sad to be honest. Because even tho I picked Garcia to beat him Saturday Night, I still rooted for Broner to win. And that's just me speaking as a Black Man and A fan of Broner and his skills. Now I wasn't always a fan but still. Black man Black man represent. But where he goes the fighter, Is the Question of the day. Hopefully he can win another title. I would love to see that. But who knows.
When/If Crawford beats Indongo then vacates all the belts and moves up i'm sure Broner will get another chance at one of those 140lb belts.
Maybe as a white dude I'm stepping out of line or getting involved in something I don't know much about, but were I myself a black man I would find myself getting more behind the likes of Tim Bradley (I know he just retired but I hope you see my point) instead of that clown Broner. Broner is a man who wants to appear avaricious and even seems to mock those with little wealth. He has no class or dignity as far as I can see and doesn't even fully apply himself to his trade. Bradley was a good professional (a lot of dudes wouldn't have given Pac a rematch I can bet you that much) and isn't an arsehole. I could be wrong but as far as I can see he is pretty clean outside the boxing world too, plus gave us a FOTY contender against Provo. But again, as a white guy I could well just be talking **** about something I don't get.
In reality, he just wasn't a great fighter, nor will he ever be. He is good but when the level of competition rises he isn't gonna beat the elite. Had a lot of hype and was huge at the weight which helped. I personally feel that his style doesn't suit his physical gifts. If he tries to box someone his slow feet and lack of output mean he is unlikely to get a decision win. Full all his bravado he is a tough SOB, took his licks well ha Maidana and I feel if he stayed in the pocket a lot more and tried to put an fighters he would be a lot more successful. He isn't featherfisted and does have fast hands.
