I've noticed some pre-ducking comments coming out of him... Team Garcia set a deadline for end of 2017 for a Lomachenko showdown. Mikey said that he wants Crawford too, but he's been repeating 2 things... One is that they would have to "come over to Showtime" and he's parroting that Top Rank might not want to work with him. I like Mikey, but he seems to be calling out guys and putting up roadblocks already. Reminds me of a guy who kept telling another guy to jump networks/promoters in order to make a fight happen...
I get the impression he's ducking Crawford and will fight him at 147 only after he has more wins under his belt. I highly doubt he'd duck Loma. The only person who could make this matchup an issue is Arum, who may lowball Mikey IF he does even do business with him in the first place.
or, now hear me out, he could just be smart enough to be aware of the difficulties that will present themselves when trying to make these fights... just a thought.
I don't think Garcia is a welterweight and he knows it, He might take the fight but will demand huge money
What roadblocks? He's telling you he wants the fights and explaining why he doesn't think they might happen.
Both Garcias have made it clear they'd like to see Loma go away. Robert admitted after the Broner fight that Loma's manager calls him every week asking when they can start the promotion, and he admits Loma wants the fight at 135. He even thinks the fight should be PPV. But the Garcias think Loma should fight a few other guys at 135 first, and maybe get a title there first. Of course, it was ok for Mikey to go to 140 without doing any of those things. But they seem to think Loma is not proven enough to fight Mikey. Mikey has even said that if he beats Loma, everyone will say, "Why are you picking on a smaller guy?"
Mikey is not ducking anyone. He just got to 140 and has to decide whether to fight there or go back down to 135.................
