LMAO ur in denial, these are average numbers for fight between two well known and well covered American fighters.
Pretty damn good. I don't like to believe there's many fans of both ufc and boxing but I guess I have to accept that the ufc thing that night cut into viewers, but so probably did Broner losing his cred his last few fights. We used to have to hold Showtime to lower standards, but that they're matching HBO is the new normal. Numbers for individual premium cable shows don't matter, what this shows is that Showtime boxing has earned more dedicated viewers. Partly from consistently putting on good, top level matches, partly from just more shows including Showbox, but mostly from cross-promotion with successful CBS shows and PBC generally. And the trend of these kind of numbers should continue. I'm no Haymon fanboy, I still like HBO boxing better (and we unfortunately only get HBO boxing here in Canada), it's just the truth that Showtime has had a better strategy and outdone HBO the last five years.
You're over estimating their value. If it is Showtime's highest rated in a while, that's all that matters. It's all relative.
