Joshua - Pulev... Las Vegas!?

Fair enough. I can't really get excited about this fight and only see it going one way. I believe Pulev was offered the chance to fight AJ for the title before but refused. Maybe that was just to get a higher percentage once he became the mando for the fight, but I just get the vibe that he doesn't believe himself he can win.

 

First we need to give Eddie time to have a wee cry. The AJ-Wlad rematch would have made him a fortune (I know he's minted already - but this would have made really loads of wonga). He was practically salivating whenever he talked about it. Poor wee lamb.

 

Won't happen. Will have to be in the UK.

 

Whoever said the heavyweights were coming alive again?
What a dismal prospect Joshua v Pulev, Ortiz, not to mention the undercurrent of the Oquendo, Ustinov, Stiverne nonsense.
Wouldn't it be great if Joshua, Wilder, Parker just told the alphabet bunch where to go like Alvarez has done with the WBC. All of these ridiculous mandatory fights are just wasting time and eating into the top boxers careers as they fight so infrequently.
With so many great fighters and pairings in the other divisions to savour, who really needs the heavyweights?

how was it? it was a really good undercard.

 

In hindsight yes because of the Whyte v Chisora and Burton v Buglioni fight but it looked like a **** one.

 

Everyman and his dog was on here slating the Whyte v Chisora fight as a boring hugfest, but it turned out to be a fight of the year contender.

 

so which undercards in the uk in recent years have looked good on paper?

 

I want to diss Pulev but he's still superior to any Wilder cherry pick.

 

The last brilliant televised was probably the Brook v Gavin undercard imo.

I don't think the fight has any value in America, it doesn't sell tickets and it doesn't sell as many PPV's as they would like over here at 4am.

I also don't see it at Millennium Stadium either to be honest. Back to the O2 with a solid undercard I'd expect.

 

AJ hasn't been ordered to fight Ortiz by the WBA, but been ordered to fight Pulev by the IBF.
