Timothy Ray Bradley Jr. Releases Official Statement On His Retirement =(

Cotto is retiring, I thought he had a fight coming up

 

Floyd will be done after the circus on the 26th. But he's 40 so no surprise. Manny will probably retire(or should) after he knocks horn out in the rematch. Lots of big names getting out of the game.

 

He's looking for one more fight, but said he's out as of December 31 this year. Whether he sticks to it remains to be seen, but given the mileage he's got on him, I hope he does.

 

Cotto has a Hall of Fame career. Bradley will have a hard time getting in.. That is the difference. Many fights and a long career.

 

Bradley has not been the same since Provodnikov beat him up badly. He was slurring his speech after that, he needed to retire before it was too late. Good decision......................he was very polite tonight on ESPN's Lomachenko fight.....................

 

His success was essentially built on fitness, speed and toughness.

He was very dominant against older foes ( Witter, Casamayor, Campbell) and against most of his contemporaries (Vazquez, Holt, Cherry, Peterson, Alexander, Abregu); but he had close encounters with some of them ( Provodnikov, Vargas, Chavez).

Against legends, he barely scrapped past 40 year old Marquez, and was clearly dominated by Pac in all 3 fights.

He refused to fight Khan while they were both in their primes, and doesn't seem too eager to fight the new lions of the division.

Notwithstanding this, I believe his struggles against Provo and Vargas, coupled with his inability to reinvent himself once he lost the youth factor, shows he doesn't have a HOF career.

40 year old Marquez aside, his best signature win is Alexander.

 

Manny didn't go on too long. If he was fighting Spence type guys I'd agree but he can still compete with Horn type guys. He should rematch and either fight Vargas type guys for a couple more years or retire. Just stay the hell away from Spence.

 

Was Marquez still roided to the gills like he was for pacman KTFO6? I assume he was. ANd if so it was an impressive win for timmy. It's a shame he didn't have punching power he could have been awesome.

 

Considering he chose to stick and move all night and that Marquez had to chase him around the ring, i don't consider this an impressive win at all.

Even less impressive is him while in his absolute prime twice renegading on his promise to fight Khan, choosing Casamayor instead.

Thanks Little Timmy. Great career. He was undefeated as a Light Welterweight champion. For me he he won the 1st Pacquiao fight. Great fighter and an even better human being.

 

Enjoy retirement champ! Thanks for the memories - wars, good tactical fights, never ducked anyone.

 

Stop it he never won the first Pac fight.

Hey, good luck to Timmy. Not always the most exciting performer, but the Ruslan Provodnikov fight was epic and won't be forgotten. He made real good money, especially for the Pac fights so he should also be ok there. Seems to have a future as an announcer so good luck with that. All in all, a class act that did boxing proud

 

Pac isn't knocking anybody out anytime soon. Will be a sad day when he retires though.
