Did Marquez owe Pacquiao anything? I see several people saying that Marquez owed him a 5th fight.

There was supposed to have been a 5th right, but Marquez chickened out.................Marquez was on his way to getting knocked out, he was outclassed, Marquez was lucky that Pac got careless and was caught with a lucky punch, not to mention the roids, check out who was in Marquez' camp!

They kept rematching so that Pac could win convincingly, not so that Marquez could finally defeat him. Marquez owed him nothing.

I too feel that JMM was robbed in many of those fights, but after the second fight, Pac didnt really have to give any rematches to JMM. You say Pac was chasing the money? Lets be honest. . . those fights made JMM a very rich man, and JMM needed those fights way more then Pac did.

Also, im sure you will just re-write history, but JMM was getting his ass whooped in that 4th fight. Pac just got over zealous and blindly charged into a perfectly placed right hand. . .

I truly enjoy watching both of those fighters, and they are both legends of the sport, but there was many many many options out there for Pac to make money. JMM was always a dangerous opponent for Pac and he put his nuts on the line 4 times.

 

Arum and Pac didn't want to pay Marquez enough to make the fifth fight so it wasn't made. That's on Arum and Pac not Marquez.

 

Who were the options for Pacquiao at the time of the third fight? And before you respond keep in mind that this was during a period where Bob would ONLY match him against in-house opponents.
