Pac laying face down on the canvas in a pool of his own spittle is the image that will come to mind of most boxing fans if asked to name the most definitive knockout of the new millennium imo.
Most high profile sure, but that was obviously a declined Pac. If Marquez had done that in the 1st or 2nd fight before Pac was older and war torn then yes it'd be arguably the greatest KO of all time. But Pac wasn't near the fighter he was in the 4th that he was was in the first 2 fights.
Greatest KO of all time? lol You certainly have a high opinion of Pac. Do a poll and see what others think. Maybe you are right.
Well said, what is it with this social media generation of boxing fans who only rate someone with a zero on the end,I mean by that reckoning we may as well just discount Ray Robinson,Ali and just about every hall of famed, even worse is when they get called bums, that don't half get my back up.
you are right. He lost to a lot of guys, and handpicked other soft guys and people say he is so great. He isn't..
he kind of handpicked a lot of soft touches around the Manny fight. And he lost the times he fought a little better guys. I mean not a real all time great. Are we being honest here or bsing? He came a little later than the guys at 130... and then handpicked. Hall of fame career but not all time great.
LOL, you ask 99.9% of just the common sports fan what they thought of Martinez' knockout of Williams, and they wont even know who you're talking about. You ask those very same people the first thought that crosses their mind when you say Juan Manuel Marquez, and to a person they will say, KTFO6. You ask the same person what their first thought is when Manny Paccquiao crosses their mind, they wont say he beat MAB, Morales, that he destroyed DLH, that he dismantled Cotto or Margarito. The first thought about Pacquiao to anyone is KTFO6. "Oh he was that great Phillipine fighter that was destroying everyone but he got KTFO6, and then Mayweather beat his ass." LOL!
What ware you trying to say? That casual fans matter more than true boxing fans. I respect Marquez fighting ability. He is a great fighter, but I don't like his bitterness. The man is 43 years old still bitter. Just like Hagler. They're bitter fighters.
the man won more than half of the 42 rds that they fought, had to chase pac for years across multiple divisions and finally knock him out cold in order to get his due, so hes got room for some bitterness... whats your excuse? ive been labeled a pac-**** many times for talking up pac so much, but fair is fair and the truth is the truth. i felt like someone punched me in the gut when marquez landed that ko punch, but he did what pac had been trying to do to him for 42 rds, and unless i can prove he cheated, i got to be a man and give him his due.
Hagler is bitter because he felt he got robbed of a W against Ray Leonard.. WHY ON EARTH would Marquez be bitter.. He left Pacquiao SLEEP in the ring the last time they fought. Stop reaching
