    - 4 wins over Pacquiao
    - Mayweather "weight undisclosed"
    - Destroyed the most stacked division in his time - J Diaz, Casamayor, Katsidis - and he was the first to knock them all out despite fighting in a higher division than his best
    - Completely changed his natural counter puncher style as he was so avoided, so fought the majority of his career in a style different from his opus moderandi

The 4 wins over Pacquiao are the equivalent of Calzaghe beating Roy Jones 4 times

Whilst Floyd retired to avoid the most dangerous challengers, and Manny roided and weight drained shot old men, Juan consistently took on the best - at their best

Juan Manuel Marquez was the Greatest fighter of the so called Mayweather Pacquiao era, and supplants Chavez as the Greatest Mexican Fighter of All Time

    Viva Juan Manuel Marquez :sun_smiley:

As Khaosai said, you get a pass  but he's not.
Chavez, Olivares, Sanchez and Saldivar are greater (can't think any other greater Mexicans) so Marquez is Top 5.

Without the 4th Pac fight, Marquez career is not better than Barrera and Morales.
His tight fight with the slightly past the prime Barrera proved to me that he is not above them skillwise.
Nonetheless an excellent fighter and warrior in the ring.

Destroyed the most stacked division in his time - J Diaz, Casamayor, Katsidis -your are kidding right? His resume is lacking compared to great fighters.

he still needed Memo Heredia for the 4th Pac fight to be greater than Morales and Barrera. he did everything to stop the mexican onslaught though so that is the greatest accomplishment for him.

If you believe that then you have to say Pacquiao was also dirty, no other way around it.

So what is it? They both dirty?

Not really. Pacquiao has clearly aged and slowed even before KTFO6. Roidquez, on the other hand, showed up to III and IV, nearing 40 years of age, w/ a new body, increased power, increased stamina, and even speed. Then if that wasn't proof enough, he showed up to the Alvarado fight w/ acne massive boils all across his chest and back.

I rate Morales win over Marquez's win even though Marquez got the KO. Because Morales is the only man in boxing history to defeat a prime Pacquiao. And he did it clearly, cleanly and convincingly.
