Fischer was popular? I thought he was an a*sehole and that everyone else felt the same about him!

 

Holmes was one of the very greatest (I have him number 3 ATG on a heavies list) but would n't have beaten The Greatest when he WAS the greatest. A close fight decided by Muhammad's superior speed mainly.

Let's not forget Holmes sparred Ali for many years. Still I do not agree that Holmes would win

 

It is absolutely astonishing that you think that Spinks won the rematch. That was one of the worst robberies I ever witnessed.

 

Larry is correct. He would beat prime Ali, who never had to contend with that combination of size and skill. Larry is way better than Doug Jones.

 

Ali's my hero and for me the greatest heavyweight of all time, but it's a legitimate opinion to say that Larry Holmes beats him.
