Fair points about Cotto and Mayweather, but I expect that the pace against Golovkin will be higher, just because of the style - if he lets Golovkin to put him under pressure constantly, he'll need to be in a great shape to stay fresh by the second part of the fight.

Against Kirkland, by the way, he took a lot of pauses and gave initiative to Kirkland and it's unclear to me, if this was because he wanted to see openings, or because he was trying to save some energy due to high pace that Kirkland imposed.

Wasn't Mosely imposing a high pace? The result was that Mosely eventually had to back away because he was eating too many punches.

    BTW
I understood his giving Kirkland time to punch as an effort to catch Kirkland coming in and as a way of practicing his Mayweather defense.

Let's put it this way. Ginger will. E looking for a soft spot to land after a few hard shots from Ggg.

Canelo loves the ropes because he has stamina issues. To be fair he's really really good at countering off the ropes and then moving off them, but that is the last place you want to be against GGG.

You think canelo is going to box GGG? Off the back foot? With what footwork? Guy moves like he's walking in cement.

I think we'll see GGG lying on the canvas, on his back after that right hand from Canelo.

I've never seen this this defensive wizard you mention, sure he can duck and sway and he counters well but everyone he's faced has had some success against him.
Against GGG it's got to be a case of keeping GGGs big blows to a minimum as nobody so far Canelos size has been able to withstand sustained hits
