BT/Boxnation have the cash...they lack confidence in the fight happening.

Do you think? Im curious what makes you think that?

The whole situation just confuses me as i always assumed that the fury's were the ones that have sh#t on warren abit... first the Tyson pull outs with the WK rematch. Then they had Hughie vs Parker fight which everyone would of assumed would of been BT, marketed and promoted with them getting in the ring together etc... only for it now to be a circus and the talk its going ITV Boxoffice.

I think it's a pick'em fight, but the issue I have with Fury is that he's still to face world level competition where as Parker has proven his metal vs Takam and Ruiz Jr. It's a jump although not a massive one and I think it's a 50/50 scrap based on talent.

Warren was instrumental in getting Hughie the undeserved mandatory position and title shot and did the purse bids for the original fight etc. He has the backing of BT who have huge money to invest and would love a genuine Heavyweight world champion in the stable to be the flag bearer of their challenge to Sky and Hearn.

The Furys may have sh#t on Warren but he is an experienced and wily businessman and if he thought he could make decent money from Hughie then he'd be promoting the hell out of this along with the might of BT. There is no confidence in this fight at all. Put it this way BT are plugging Warrington vs TBA 4 weeks later yet nothing about a heavyweight title fight that Warren was instrumental in making that is only 4 weeks away. Warren or BT can't afford to be embarrassed by the fight not happening.

Is he any less deserving of a world title shot than AJ who got his on his 16th fight? He wasn't knocking over world class opposition before his opportunity either. He's 20-0 and worked himself into a mandatory position.

All of which i agree... but i read it, not that warren didnt see the potential in the fight... because I cant believe there is any less potential in there fight than some of the other they are putting on at the moment.

BUT that the fury's have been turned by the potentially of having it PPV with ITV... thinking they will make more money.

You may be right, but I can't see it working on ITV PPV. Poxon did a good job with the undercard and CEJ is far more marketable than Hughie. The undercard is awful and Hughie couldn't sell Clearasil.

Yes, AJ was Olympic gold medalist and known throughout the country. Hughie is unknown and lacks charisma and it was Warren who worked him into a mandatory position.

Whilst that's true, popularity in the UK shouldn't affect your ranking at all. I know it obviously does as does ££££££ but still.

Agreed but sadly it does, just the same way that certain promoters have influence and trust from sanctioning bodies who then make an underserving fighter a mandatory because they then get good sanctioning fees for high profile fights. A promoter's influence and credibility with the alphabet bodies can be diluted if there are repeated failures to deliver on the promised fights and this may explain some of the reluctance to back Hughie after two pull outs. After all a cancelled fight is a sanctioning fee gone.

You can't compare these, two completely different scenarios.

Fury is somehow a mandatory challenger, even though he's fought no one.

AJ got the shot because Charles Martin chose him, he wasn't even nearly mandatory.

They should of tied up a TV deal from the start it would of helped massively to sell the show.
I cannot believe a UK World Heavyweight title fight has had so little attention

Everyone knows that Parker is the weakest of the 3 strap holders currently, and there is only 1 real HW champion; AJ.

That is the reason this fight is not big. Its bigger than Oquendo vs Briggs which was proposed, but its hardly a draw. Parker vs that Romanian sparring partner was a real struggle for him, as was his fight against the obese Mexican. Its not like anyone thinks of either Parker or Hughie as a threat to AJ.

The Furys are not interested in broadcasters at this stage, they are not at all too worried about money either, they will get what they want when HF wins the Title.

This fight will happen, make no mistake about it.

And when it does, TF will ridicule a lot of people, and they would have deserved it, then he will be back.
