Mayweather/McGregor Fight Discussion

Mayweather doesn't even walk people down. The last person he really walked down like he didn't give a ****, was N'Dou that I can remember.

Mayweather gave McGregor N'Dou level of repect. That's is to say no respect.

GGG would bury this dude, believe that. That wouldn't even be sanctioned. If you want to see a beating in the ring, request that McGregor fight GGG.

 

I'm speechless at some of these comments

There's two aspects to this. I was calling it from the second round.
Floyd was playing with him, there's no disputing that, even though Conor's range and size made it a little difficult for him.
Floyd knew if he fought this fight as he usually does it would have been over in 3 or 4, so he just walked Conor down. I mean did Floyd throw a left hook in the first 4 rounds? No. It was sparring, for all intents and purposes for him, and fair play to Conor that he made him eat some nice shots while coming on in the early rounds. That counter uppercut off Floyd's lead right I could watch all day, never saw him eat that before. So there's the second aspect - Conor was better than any of us thought. The jab was very good. He was slipping Floyd's punches better than most who've faced him. The counter punches were sharp and accurate. His power obviously is overrated. His stamina was pathetic. He gassed during the 4th round. If he had a full 12 in the tank it could genuinely been a close fight since the ref let Conor tie up a lot and control the fight that way.
It was a show for the fans, for the last fight, and went as Floyd wanted it to.

So, well done to Conor for the showing he gave. He's a novice boxer, in with one of the best ever, he did remarkably well. Definitely could have been a top, top boxer if he'd stayed training for it as a youngster. What other MMA guy would have had the balls or the name to get in a ring with Floyd. He earned that.
And well done to Floyd for hitting 50-0 and making 100 million for basically a sparring session. I mean, he's laughing all the way to the bank tonight and you kind of have to admire it.

 

I guess the right hand Floyd was hitting him up side his head had nothing to with it huh

 

Canelo would put such a beating on this kid, that he would never be the same. At least with Jacobs and GGG, it would be quick. Canelo would put a sustained beating on McGregor.

 

Let's be real here, he has never has a boxing match before.

I don't think age was a factor when Mayweather was quicker with more stamina.

 

Means nothing significant. Mayweather fought Canelo.
Conor had never fought before! He managed to get all the way to the 10th round and even won some rounds! That is embarassing enough for boxing.

Little Mayweather that doesn't KO anyone, that's 40 years old walked McGregor down and stopped him. Imagine if the fight kept going. Mayweather would hospitalize this kid. It would be a tragedy in the ring.

It doesn't matter at all. He's a pro fighter who's much bigger and physically stronger. You're just ignoring the genetic side and going with ''he isn't a pro boxer'' blah blah.

He got the W. UFC fanboys can go back being insecure and saying ''boxing is dead'' blah blah.

The amateur stuff is nonsense as there's amateurs who are better than some pro's.

Pro is a loose term in combat sports.

It's a lot easier to land on an exhausted opponent.

Until Conor started to tire he was controlling the fight with his size, jab and movement. Conor was snapping Floyd's head back with uppercut counter punches, hurting Floyd with body punches and making Floyd curl up in a ball & turn his back several times.

 

Jesus I'd say you would be in owe of mayweather if he koed Rory McIlroy in he's boxing debut lol.

Face it Floyd is a stuff robot who couldn't handle some slickness and weird movement, was getting the face jabned off him
