athlete is not the right word...connor is probably the better real FIGHTER of the two but in term of athlethisme he is pathetic no conditioning at all and he wasnt that fast or powerful either to call him athletic
I rarely get my predictions right (as do many I suppose) but it pretty much went exactly how me and a couple of friends thought. From round 4 it was pretty obvious Floyd started going through the gears and pounced once Mcgregor starting gassing as pretty much everyone with a brain knew he would. Mayweather showing the class even at 40. Is this really the last time we see him in the ring? Credit where it is due though, Mcgregor surprised me, first 3 rounds he was slipping and countering pretty beautifully at times. Anyone got a gif of that slip counter uppercut? He should go back to MMA with the experience he has picked up and batter all the guys there calling him out. Something that still baffles me today: How do professional athletes still gas out with all the training and conditioning they have? Nervous energy?
I've been falling out of love for boxing over the last few months. This put me off even more. But I'm feeling a bit of a cleansing seeing the Canelo-GGG hype. But I can confirm I'm done watching anything other than the very best matchups i.e P4P'ers, borderline P4P'ers and definite P4P talents making it happen.
McGregor looked about as fluid as the Tin Man in there. Luckily he was fighting a 40yr old who hasn't fought in 2yrs - Floyd is completely over the hill now and he knocked that ass out. It was a fair and entertaining fight...evenly matched all things considered. I'll say this about boxing vs. UFC. If we sent one of our young dominant punchers in the Octagon (Joshua, Canelo, Thurman, Spence) they would literally end someone's life in that cage. Thurman or Spence would absolutely end mcgregors life in that octagon. It should never ever ever ever be allowed to happen. Cage fighters should be allowed to cross over into our world (our guys can carry them and play around a bit before closing a show in this controlled setting), but the reverse should forever be illegal.
did anybody see what oscar said about the fight? this fight was a farce Floyd wanted to put a bet that he would stop conor by the 10th but they wouldnt let him place the bet and he ended uo ko conor anyway in the 10th seen it
It seemed competitive at first and the possibility of Connors pulling off the upset appeared viable for a while. However, I never felt that boxing would somehow be degraded by such a victory since it would only prove that one man had superior boxing skills than the other and nothing more.
well I'm glad the fight is over, now all this non stop talk of Mayweather/McGregor can finally go away and we can focus on real boxing.
It was a bit like Wildmills v <insert bums name here>. Windmills gets totally out boxed for a few rounds then lands a hail Mary and goes into full spaz mode until <insert bums name here> is twitching on the floor... Well maybe not just like that but a little bit...
First off Floyd's timing and even his balance looked off in the first few rounds but even like that he was just coasting. Connor reminds me of Robin Williams in that popeye movie, bottom line he can't box for ****. Notice as soon as Floyd started stepping on the gas , all of a sudden his shots had snap on them and were hitting the target. Connor needs to shut up he was saying he could beat Canelo lmao .
