It's very difficult to become 'Unified' that's why we hardly ever see a unified champion. And when we do see one, it's not for long. You can't fight all your mandos within a year. And what most of us don't take into consideration is that those mandos have to wait a long time to fight a champion because champions are too busy fighting whom they want to fight.

From what I saw in his Rhodes fight, I don't see Lip-Nets lasting too long as champ.

Not really, it was a milestone fight and enabled him to claim a piece of boxing history.

I personally don't know why anyone with a fully functioning brain would want to have all 4 belts. That's a total of 12% of their purse going to worthless straps that the people think are important. I truly hope in my lifetime these organizations are done away with and only 1 sanctioning body is recognized. That's one of the things the UFC are doing correct. And do away with so many of these damn weight classes

    Good man.

He gets my respect for finally leaving a division that he had no business being in.

At 147, he can no longer be the bully boy and pick and choose men who are half the size of him.

Naw, I think that he just wants to take the time with his team and make a decision on his next move without being dictated to and threatened with a strip all too early. That's not cool and the IBF knows it. They was ok with Indongo skipping the mandatory so why is it a big deal now. Give the man some time, Lipnuts ain't no threat so that's definitely not the reason he vacated the belt.

I think once youre the undisputed champion you cannot be stripped really because the vacant belts become even more worthless.

Crawford could vacate all the belts, as long as he is at 140, he's the man.

The joke is a nobody named lipnets thinks he can even compete with crawford. Who are you? who have you beat to earn that shot? I expect dsg & thurman to come down with yeast infections when crawford moves to 147.

For Crawford it is not 12 percent of his purse. Crawford makes a million a fight.
So.... he can EXPENSE the sanctioning fee. For example:
Any income over 460k is taxable at 39.6 percent (40 percent basically).
His gross pay is 1 million. After the 120k in sanctioning fee his net fee is 880k.
Of that 120k in sanctioning fee he expensed, were he not to have paid the fee, his tax on that 120k would have been 48k. The earnings would be the remainder of 72k.

His effective sanctioning fee of the 1 million is 7.2 percent, or close to half of the stated 12 percent :)

Prime Roy Jones defended multiples belts many times and ended up being called a ***** for it. Let other champ apeat and build hype. Jones opponents became champs after the fact, that was worthless as they where all lessened by it. Its wrong, but its what fans behaviors seeds

The IBF sent Crawford a letter on the Monday after the fight giving him until today to enter into negotiations with their "Number 1 contender" before the end of the year. That would force Crawford to fight again in 3 months vs someone who hasn't boxed since March. Additionally each of the governing bodies has a different mandatory which would force Crawford to fight 4 fights in a year. Clearly the governing bodies are driving the bus on this and not Crawford.
