How much success would he find against Ken Norton? Stewart did last the distance vs a prime Holyfield in a competitive fight.

He and Norton had a mutual opponent in George Foreman, but to be fair, Norton faced a younger and more explosive version. On the other hand, they say power is the last thing to go and Stewart seemed to be better able to handle George's dynamite.

How would a Stewart/Norton fight play out.

Prime Norton would dominate and stop Alex Stewart. No question about it. The Quarry that Norton beat was better than any version of Alex Stewart. Not to mention Ali.

Yeah but if Stewart was competitive with a prime Holyfield and Michael Moorer and even an older Foreman, then you have to give him the benefit of the doubt about being competitive with Norton or Quarry.

but alex doesn't win. he never did. a guy wanting a soft touch or easy win went after guys like Alex. Or a Botha. Stewart is not absorbing body punishment from this guy. Actually try to think of an opponent that couldn't land their punches on Alex.

Norton would mow him down with his accuracy/2 handed assault/oddball jab.

Before anyone says Tyson blew Stewart out in one round, oh no he did not.
That fight, like the Seldon fight, was about as obvious as dives ever get, and it's most unlikely that both occurred when Tyson was on the comeback trail. Yes, he'd have beaten both anyway, but money changed hands to ensure Tyson looked good at two pivotal moments.
That's about safe as assumptions ever get.

Stewart rocks Norton but Ken keeps up the pressure, Norton by 9 round ko in a entertaining match.

Did Norton hit harder than Holyfield or Moorer? Or substantially better than them? I'm not saying Stewart would beat Norton, but I think he would have been competitive even in losing.

He'd be at least as tough an opponent for Norton as he was Holyfield.

Norton outworks him but doesn't stop him IMO. Alex was generally durable and game. Didn't punch hard enough to take advantage of Norton's tendency to shrink against big boppers, but would trade and compete.

Norton is far too good for Alex. Comfortable decision or maybe a later stoppage.

    Whats your evidence of that?

And I don't believe it nor should anyone else unless there's evidence.

I think Stewart would be competitive vs Quarry and Norton in entertaining fights.
