A huge puncher, got fabulous potential.. unfortunately has been marketed terribly.. picking those challengers has made him a laughing stock.. Joshua has been a title holder half the time and in taking a legitimate risk in fighting Klitschko, he's gotten the credit, Wilder should have been earning 2 years ago.. The truth is, to improve and grow you have to be active, and tested.. Wilder has diminished as a fighter. Even Parker has improved.. Turning down $4 million to fight Whyte, when you only received a quarter of that in beating Washington in your last fight, makes you look very very sorry.
I love the fact that people act as if beating an ancient contender with one decent highlight reel KO will remove all questions regarding the level Wilder is operating at. It's a solid first step to proving he's not the glass jawed can crusher his biggest detractors think he is. And for the record I've never been that high on Ortiz and my posting on this forum proves as such.
Hey.. at least he took the step to fight a Klitschko, it's a while step higher than anyone Wilder has even threatened to face.. Remember Wilder has been champion a while longer than Joshua.. Those defences by Deontay are poor..
