Yeah he lucked out, and quite frankly I believe he pulled a quit job - knowing full well the local commission would have his back and give him the nod.
The Islam-Cook fight is really being overlooked IMO, Steven Butler is a very talented fighter, and the way that Cook basically rolled with, smothered, spoiled and negated everything he attempted, all the while winging in these nasty ass fastball overhand rights I found very impressive, Islam in theory should win this, but Butler in theory should have won as well, and to be honest, Kanat has regressed in his last few fights, and leaves himself way too open, an upset is very possible here. Definitely going to be a few upsets this weekend. Knowing which is another story though I agonized over Islam-Cook for a while too, an upset wouldn't surprise me but I can't bring myself to pick it haha.

Taking a risk here with Kalenga. Lerena isn't that good. Decent enough movement, loves to clinch, but a meh fighter. I thought he lost to Nielsen but the judges had his back. Lots of bad scoring down in South Africa. Crossing my fingers that Kalenga doesn't let it go to the cards because no way he wins that.
I'm leaning Kalenga based on the form he's shown in losses to Lebedev and Dorticos. Kalenga was horrifically robbed by a Lativian journeyman earlier in his career, so it certainly wouldn't be the first time.
I also think Kalenga is better than Lerena. If you look at their recent performances Kalenga vs Dorticos and Lerena vs Nielsen, it looks to me that Kalenga is the better of the two. But I don't think he gets a KO and if it goes to the cards ....
