There isn't another one which would generate over 1 mil PPV buys. Like it or not this is an insane number for a fight not involving a British fighter let alone being on at 5am in the morning. That report says Floyd v Manny did 700,000 which was still a very good number but wonder if the bump up in price to £24.95 was the reason it didn't get up to closer to 1 mil.
Not arguing the figures were not huge, they were. But lets all just call this the record for a PPV 'event'........not a boxing match.
More or less but the masses who bought it didn’t believe so. They believed they was going to be watching a genuine fight and amazingly many of them fought Mcgregor would win. People are hungry to see Floyd lose.
Sorry I meant there isn't another 'exhibition' which would draw 1 mil buys. I think the more impressive thing was it got such a high number even though it was on at a horrible time for us in the UK. I agree AJ v Fury could generate 1 mil buys but that's down to AJ. Fury is irrelevant now.

I'm still waiting for the day Sky ditch boxing and it returns to free tv. Certain posters on here keep claiming PPV is dead and the walls are closing in and Sky/Matchroom bubble is going to burst. 2017 has had Haye v Bellew, AJ v Vlad, Mayweather v Mcgregor all doing high PPV numbers. AJ v Pulev still to come as well. Seems to me people are more than happy to pay to watch fights they believe will provide a nights entertainment. True but it should easily do 450,000 - 500,000. AJ is pretty much certain to do 400,000 minimum regardless who he fights.
Didn't Mayweather v Pac do more than 700,000? Also it was rumoured that Haye v Bellew did around 800,000. It's hard to believe any PPV numbers that come out from the UK as Sky never offically release them.
I remember a Hearn interview after the AJ v Vlad fight and he said it was on course to break the record which was held by Mayweather v Pacquio (which would of been more than the 900,000 Hatton v Floyd fight)
I've never been on board with the thought fmj "carried" mcquitter, i truthfully believe thats some of the dumbest **** I've read in a couple days on here. I do believe fmj took the first 2 rounds to gauge mcquitter speed, range and timing. The counter left uppercut that landed flush was great for mcquitter fans but fight ruining for the rest of us. It's was 100% proven to be fact that mcquitter has NO real power within the boxing ring. The most difficult aspect for fmj was navigating that height, reach and stance that was keeping far war from fmj. Mcquitter can be, with a level head, be given rounds 1,2 on effort alone. Then we have the mcquitter cult that believe he won the first 5 rounds and even lately try claiming he squeezed round 8. Then we these fools that believe the "ref SAVED" fmj in the beginning round 9, totally wishful thinking while trying to rewrite history. After 2 rounds fmj saw everything mcquitter had to offer, by you round 4 the fight was OVER, there was nothing mcquitter could do about it, especially since mcquitter didn't want to fight for real. He gave up entirely after that low blow had zero effect except fmj making sure the ref called the low blow. Fmj did exactly what he said for the entire 2,3 month buildup. Mcquitter landed his very best shot but boxers with even ok chins brush him aside. Also, I find it hilarious some of you believe mcquitter gassed because he didn't train properly. He trained his ass off and walked in that ring and fought to win for 2 rounds, could be been worse. He could've fought an aggressive puncher and get blasted out in 2 rounds. Better for some fans, also better for mcquitter. Taking an 8 round beating isn't good for mcquitter or any fighter.. mcquitter quit AGAIN
