...Alvarez is gonna skip the IBF second weigh in. Bumlovkin will have to make weight 4 hours earlier than normal while not re-hydrating over the IBF mandatory 170lb second weigh in limit. Alvarez, OTOH, will be free to re-hydrate as much as he wants.

de la Hoya is trying to weaken Bumlovkin as much as possible. They've taken a page out of Jacobs' playbook and added a chapter. Smart move on Team Canelo's part..

Where is this rehydration clause? Everything I've read says the exact opposite of this

"Fight at 160 with no rehydratikn clause"

This fight is for the IBF title. The IBF has a rule which states that the fighters must weigh in on the day of the fight and not exceed a certain limit. This rule effects ALL IBF world title fights...

So you are saying Canelo is gonna put a lot of weight fight night and become more of a stationary target?

Can't you post me a link where this only applies to GGG?

If this is true and they are both fighting for IBF title, then how does it not apply for Canelo?

If that's an IBF rule, then it applies to both fighters if they want to fight for the IBF championship.

What the thread starter is saying is that Canelo in his opinion will do what Danny Jacobs did and not weigh in the day of the fight by IBF rules, which means if Canelo should win, the IBF title will become vacant because of not showing up for the second weighin.

It doesn't apply to just Canelo. Golovkin can chose to do the same and thus if both fighters chose not to weigh in a second time the day of the fight, the title automatically becomes vacant.
The thread starter is assuming that Golovkin will want to remain the undisputed champion and retain all belts and thus he'll weigh in and come in at or under 170 lbs the second weighin the day of the fight.

No cheating here, both fighters can do as they wish.

Even in the morning GGG still has time to hydrate to 172 right after the late weigh in, near his norm

The re-hydration limit actually hurts the bigger guys more, why would a flyweight come heavier than 122 anyways?

At Cruiser the re-hydration average is near 20 lbs. 220 lbs at cruiser = 10% re-hydration

IBf changed the rules for unification bouts, there is no same day weigh in and this fight is considered a unification bout as multiple titles are on the line.

GGG looks dehydrated at the face off, this extra time will benefit him more than Canelo

    1. There is no IBF 2nd weigh-in for this fight as the IBF cancelled it for unified title bouts.

    2. The way you are cheering for ODLH to make things unfair against Golovkin shows that you are not a true boxing fan. We already knew that though.

He can't give any credit to Canelo for winning either. Imagine being proud of beating a guy called 'bumlovkin'
