I see this fight playing out the same way Tyson-Holyfield 1 and Garcia-Mathysse did. The superb counter puncher beating the monster Power puncher.
I'm in the minority here. I think it will be a tough closely contested affair. Canelo is fast, strong, elusive and durable enough to hang with GGG. I don't think GGG has enough size and speed to just walk down Canelo without worrying of being countered by flashy combination that scores points in the mind of judges. It will be interesting to see if GGG will land enough head and body shots to slow Canelo down down the stretch or Canelo bank enough rounds and make GGG complacent with his approach. I back GGG by close decision.
How was Jacobs done in four when he easily got up smiling and gave GGG hell for the rest of the fight? BTW Fighters who lasted the whole fight with Golovkin: Daniel Jacobs Ian Gardner Mehdi Bouadla Amar Amari Medi Bouadia was TKOD three times by other fighters but Golovkin couldn't do it.
Great thread zakman. I wanted to open a thread Yesterday on the same topic. We will witness greatness tomorrow. GGG will Walk right through canelo. I See a brutal early ko before the Sixth round. All the Guys Here talking **** about canelo being technically better than golovkin, having more Power, higher Ring IQ, have no idea about boxing. GGG is Fighter of the caliber of Marvin hagler and RJJ in their Prime. He is fighting a great fighter in canelo, but not that Special. GGG is better in every Department besides Speed and He is naturally bigger than canelo. GGG will bring his A Game and shut a lot of mouths. The real super fight for GGG will be against Ward. That will be a 50/50 fight and one for the ages!!! We will See a great fight tomorrow with a brutal Ending for canlo!!!
I agree, i think Canelo will start with intent to get Golovkins respect and win the early rounds on the eye catching work but whilst winning the rounds he will be taking punishment and the intent and the eye catching counters will soon dry up and then Golovkin will just break him down hurt and stop him. Brave Canelo will leave it to the ref or his corner to end it though.
