I think the BJS son was put up to it by his dad. I think it was another trick to unsettle Monroe. It shouldn't have happened it was out of order but at the same time I must admit I have watched it a few times and laughed every time.

What rubbish am I reading in this thread. billy and his son are both horrible fcukers. One of my neighbours are of Romany decent and whilst there abit 'rough around the edges' they would never allow their kids to behave like this. This kid is going to grow into a real nasty piece of work in a years to come.

Even if you want to go down the head patting thing as some kind of excuse you can see that the boy was planning to do something from the min he stepped on the scales.

Bang out of order. Monroes been pretty much a gentleman since he,s arrived...been treated pretty badly here. Understand things can get heated. But its seriously amatuer time...when your promoter/trainer/son etc all either let things go actively encourage it or take part in it. Monroes been a professional billy again lowering the tone.

I dont mind billy...i actually quite like him bit of a throwback but he constantly lets himself down badly at times. To the point its hard to get behind him. I hope monroe wins it....dont think he will tho. The americans at that level tend to be a little more skillful but struggle with the brits workrate/will to win away from home anyway.

And anyone with any experience of these 'people' (and I use the term loosely here) knows it's not a minority who are like this and give the rest a bad reputation. You are actually surprised if you meet one who isn't a complete and utter lowlife scumbag.

 

It's interesting how Saunders and his vulgar behaviour and his misbehaving kid are seen as some sort of blight on society, real nasty people, and cause so much distaste and offense to people here. And the "traveller" question has already mean dragged up.

If these were black guys from London playing up to an urban street 'gangsta' image, they'd be allowed to have full-on near-riots and brawls and make any sort of threat and most here would lap it up and call it all great beef to sell a fight.
That's the double standard.
It's not the poor behaviour people object to, it's the "uncoolness" of the white gypsy misbehaviour. I understand that, but let's be honest, that's what it is.

 

For the record, I think Saunders is a bit of an idiot and completely unprofessional a lot of the time.

And I'd prefer all boxers to behave as Willie Monroe Jr, has in the lead up to the fight.

But there's no denying the negative stereotypes of the travelling community are pulled up at any opportunity by many of you here.

 

And when a boxer like Hughie Fury conducts himself 99% of the time in a quiet, gentlemanly way, you class him as "pikey scum" anyway.

 

It reminds of Of when I was about 10, my family was at a football club presentation evening as my dad managed one of the teams and one of the rough boys in the team out of knowhere thought it would be funny to go and boot my dad in the balls. He regretted it as me my brother and sister all ran over and booted **** out of him. But remember not saying to people later I don't know why I done it as he liked my dad, suppose kids can be stupid st times. Know one thing if I done that as a kid my parents would have gave me a hiding.
