Ezzard Charles battled Walcott to a standstill at HW. Could Foster have success against Walcott at HW. Personally I lean towards Walcott to perhaps stop him.

BTW, is there any film of Walcott vs Harold Johnson?

Walcott would have bamboozled Foster, eaten a fair share of jabs and hard shots, but he would have cleaned Bob's clock eventually with a left hook..."a" left hook. Somewhere between what Frazier hit Foster with and what Ali hit him with...and the referee's 10 count would have been a mere formality.

    Epic mismatch I would say.

Yeah Foster took beatings from guys who weren't even much bigger, perhaps 10-15lbs, who on paper Bob should have been much more competitive with.

I just watched the Doug Jones vs Foster match last week and was disappoint... Jones hurt him to the body and didn't let up, rattling him consistently the whole time. I need to see it again, but it appeared Foster got gunshy early on and never got into the fight.

Jones was a solid guy, but Walcott was faster, punched sharper and harder, and was better than Jones at the things that brought Jones success against Foster.

    Walcott whips dat azz...

Foster's complete inability to beat and sometimes even be competitive with heavyweights is nearly inexplicable. Maybe he never made a concerted effort to gain mass but of all the all time great light heavies in the 20th century I think he might be the only one without a win of significance at heavyweight.

Foster had it tough when fighting hwts. Certainly think his Sunday best could stop Walcott but Joe gets there first.
