I have to agree. Today, we would enjoy watching a Polish heavyweight champion of the world who would be ten times more entertaining than any of the heavyweight champs today.
Dominate? Lets not forget he was a 6'4 240 pounder ,todays guys are even bigger than him or same size. He could be top 5 for sure and that's IF he stays mentally stable. Golota much better than given credit for,Duva said he was his best fighter and thats when Holyfield was also a Duva fighter. I asked Duva what his problem was in 08..he stated " MENTAL CASE" .lol
Andrew Golota is nothing like Artur Szpilka. Szpilka didn't even belong in the ring with Wilder (he was unrated yet still managed a title shot). Golota, on the other hand, was consistently a top 10 fighter throughout his career. I hope you realize your opinion is the minority opinion here (just look at the results of this poll above, 81.8% of people believe Golota beats Wilder).
I hate Wilder, but he would win in the first round, in the first seconds. Andrew Golota never ever won when he stepped up therefore I am amused at his "legacy". If anything he is about as good as robert helenius, or ... bruce seldon. somebody like that.
Thanks. For the record, Fury wasn't exactly 'competing' when I made that post. And truth be told, I'd favor Fury, but he's the kind of guy Golota might have matched up fairly well against. Incidentally, who keeps bumping these old Golota threads?
Re-Watching Bowe - Golota just reminded me why he is so overrated Golota was taking him to school and would of won easily if not for being a total head case.
Golota had the talent needed to beat Wilder, but his weak psyche would cause him many problems, Wilder by KO...
