If Tyson destroyed Golota then Golota wouldn't have been able to even step back into the ring again. That's what I was getting at. But that wasn't the case.

You know nothing of the sport. Watch his bout with Tyson. Tyson murdered him.

Tyson beat Golota like a stepchild. The fight bordered on child abuse. Golota was a boy fighting a man. After the first round he begged his corner to stop the fight. He acted like a true coward, and cried like a baby after.

I just rewatched it and Tyson was certainly the aggressor and the better man in the contest. But the better man doesn't always win. What counts is the official result in the end.

My knowledge of boxing cannot be evaluated based only on how I am describing one particular fight or one particular fighter. There are much more factors to consider before determining my level of boxing knowledge. The arguments I've presented so far aren't enough to rule that I know nothing. I would have to discuss many more boxing topics before one could determine how much I know about the sport.

And your man quit on his stool. Worst offense to a fighters status is quitting. Your man quit. The fighter you idolize quit on his stool. Not good!

To be clear, I am not trying to get anyone to like Golota. I simply hold the opinion that his legacy is two-fold:
#1 Started paving the way for the end of the black heavyweight hegemony in boxing (Bowe-Golota II set a CompuBox record for most power punches absorbed by a heavyweight and that was in under nine rounds; during the 90s, Golota made RING's Heavyweight Top 10 yearly ratings the most times for white heavyweights making the list three different years, edging Tommy Morrison in the process)
#2 Became a Polish boxing icon (Adamek and Fonfara put a stamp on Poland but Golota was the first) *This everyone can probably safely agree on.
But if you don't agree with any of the above then that's fine!

I have to admit that Tyson-Golota is one of my least favorite fights. In general, it wasn't easy being a Golota fan. It was one emotional rollercoaster. I can attest to nearly his whole career being that way. Painful losses.

But when speaking strictly of Andrew's match with Tyson, what makes me feel better is that boxing legends such as Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez, and Vitali Klitschko also quit in bouts (the latter two legends quit on their stool). So that was not good for their fans either. And what a career low it was for Duran, Chavez, and V. Klitschko. So if according to you the worst offense to a fighter's status is quitting then these legends are no different than the G-Man. And these are only a select few of guys that quit. Another pro boxer walked off the ring just like Golota (see Michael Gomez). While quitting isn't good, it happened a number of times before and will continue happening in the future. I feel as though it's just part of the sport because let's be honest, boxing is brutal and sometimes requires surrendering.

A fighter's health always takes priority over continuing a boxing match. If someone thinks that the price of a $49.95 pay-per-view or the price of an arena ticket is more important than a boxer's life, then that person has to be a sadist.

As I told you, stop insulting me. You are nothing compared to important Polish historical figures. Nothing. Get that through your head.

I don't need to rewrite history. Understood? Golota already did that (whether you like it or not). He was the first Pole to fight the best in the world, the first to challenge for a heavyweight world title, and remains the greatest Polish heavyweight in boxing history. You will never be able to even touch that. You amount to nothing. What you do best is put people down with your keyboard.

You have a total lack of respect for boxers who tried reaching the top. Have you ever even tried training? Do you know how hard boxing is? Please consider these things before posting such ridiculous and false statements.

In Undisputed Truth: My Autobiography, Mike Tyson admitted he was scared of Golota. Andrew had to quit, he was seriously injured. A neurosurgeon revealed that Andrew would have risked his health/life. One would have to be a sadist to expect Golota to continue. If you lost a lot of money betting on a Golota win and you now hate the man forever, I am truly sorry. Really, I am. If that's the case you certainly have a right to not like Golota.

Golota was a good fighter not an ATG. He lacked heart a lot. When he came back in 03 he actually seemed to be trying to win fights. A lot of skill had diminished. He was robbed against Ruiz and Byrd.

He's no Billy Daniels. Golota would have to lose roughly 50 pounds to get around Daniels size to catch him.
