Not really.. if you have nelo def winning 4 rounds...and if out the next 8 rounds any 2 of them were close enough to give nelo... then a draw ACTUALLY is fiesable..reasonable... and ultimately a fair call ... ggg brought his usual attributes which gave nelo problems...but he wasn't overwhelmed or seriously hurt at all thru fight imo...canelo wasn't embarrassed like how mayr did him...he just has serious stamina issues...but from what I saw...he made ggg miss Alot and backed him up on a few occasions
    ....TBH nelo impressed me alot

I hate this logic. Why do you have to score it to someone if it was even? That skews the result and means that an even round can make the same impact on scoring as a round that a fighter clearly won. Nothing wrong with giving a 10-10 round if that's what happened.
Agree GGG deserved the decision though, but I was really impressed with some of Canelo's work

I gave 1, 2, 11, 12 to Canelo. The first 2 were tippy tappy rounds with no real effectiveness from either, but... Canelo rounds.

It is a strange one, because whilst GGG clearly won the "fight", I can see an argument for Canelo picking enough rounds to nick a draw in the boxing match. To get 114-114 you, IMO, need to be scoring favourable to Alvarez, but it is possible without being corrupt.

GGG definitely won more rounds clearly and by a margin. Where as Canelo maybe picked up a few close rounds. It gives an illusion of it being wider than it maybe is. Scoring only the clearly won rounds I had it 5-2 to GGG.

As said GGG undoubtedly won the fight when looking at the event as a whole and I doubt anyone (except the biggest Canelo fans) would disagree with that - but that isn't how scoring works.

I cannot, in any way, see the 118-110 score card.

Wasn't that close. Triple G won most everyone knows it.

What ultimately I think should sway it as a clear GGG win is the 10th and 11th. My quick post live was "earlier rounds you had to watch the clean Canelo punching, but you have to stress GGG's control with aggression and pressure now!" Canelo may have landed several clean, head-snapping punches, but they were not EFFECTIVE. He wasn't able to take the play away and dictate the action with those punches, and he was backing up. The 'ring generalship' in the second half of the fight was GGG's pressure! I do often favour defence over ineffective aggression, but GGG's pressure late was clearly EFFECTIVE aggression. So it should have to take a lot more clean punching from Canelo to win those rounds. I like a lot of what Canelo did throughout, but he wasn't consistent enough late, as GGG upped the pressure.

Well I have just watched it, and would view myself as a neutral for it too.

Ultra impressed with Canelo. His defence was amazing, handspeed and footwork superb. A lot of GGGs shots were hitting air, and for me, Canelo looked in control almost all the time, when on the ropes.

    Had it Canelo winning 8 - 4.

Because to me it follows with the reasoning of not judging a fight by stats. The human element is always going to be there. Momentum plays a big role in how fights are scored. GGG had the momentum the entire fight. I guess the word would be effective aggression. Canelo wasn't throwing enough when it mattered. Canelo had a couple of moments where he could have snatched it back but decided to ride the bike, look good, and escape with a loss or possible draw with questionable judging.

It was competitive enough to keep it interesting but let's face it, there's no way to give Canelo a W.

And that's basically what he got. Canelo fans are happy tonight. Golovkin fans are outraged.

118-110 was about as abysmal a score as I've ever seen.

My brother asked me around the 10th or 11th when EVERYONE has GGGfar enough ahead that multiple KD or a KO was the only way Canelo could win: "what would make us want to see this again?"

    My response: "the judges."

I NEVER thought Gennady would get a fair shake with GBP in Vegas.

Byrd should be forced to sit down and explain how and why she scored those 10 rounds for Canelo. If she can't come up with a reasonable defense, she should be fired.

In every line of work you need to be held accountable for your performance, and this is no different. But guess what? Nothing will ever come of it, and it's only a matter of time before she ruins another good fight.

Yeah except there weren't 2 more additional close rounds. I felt Canelo won 2 rounds clear, 1 close, and I'm giving him another round I scored for GGG that was also close. That's 4 rounds which is fine. The other 8 were all clear GGG rounds. Effective aggression, dictating the fight, landing more punches, and pushing his man back.

First two rounds were easily won by Canelo but then GGG stalked him and had him on the back foot for the majority of rounds - a.k.a effective aggression. However Canelo really impressed me! From the first two rounds I thought oh ****! But then he started only working for 20 - 30 seconds in a round.

I'd have to watch it again but I have Canelo the first two and definitely two out of the last 3 rounds and maybe one of the middle rounds meaning I reckon ggg won 7 rounds and Canelo won 5
However some rounds were close so depending on what you're looking for Canelo could have edged it. So if Canelo had won overall 115 - 113 I could live with that.

And a draw is fine but! That Adelaide Byrd judge giving Canelo 10 rounds and GGG only 2 needs sacking. Even the NAC said Byrd had. A bad night.

Cracker of a fight though - again of that judge was fair and if Canelo edged it I still would've thought GGG deserved the nod but some rounds were close so that would have been fair enough.

Think they'll have a rematch and possible a trilogy.

Actually you can give a 10-10 round can't you? But no one does.
