agreed. 2 years ago at 168 i would have picked ggg, today i think the size and ggg having lost a step would give ward the advantage. i still think going 12 hard rds with ward would add to ggg's legacy.

A couple of years ago it was a very intriguing fight. Golovkin had trouble landing bigger fights, and Ward had been inactive and not yet jumped to 175. Given GGG's momentum and Ward's lack thereof, there was a reason many people (myself included) were interested in seeing this.

I thought, at the time, Ward would have been better off staying at 168 looking for the GGG fight, instead of moving up and going the Kovalev route.

All things considered, with the advantage of hindsight, I think the path they each took worked out better for both in the long run.

I think 9-3/8-4 Golovkin was closest to the mark. Maybe even, 10-2 or 7-5 for Golovkin.

I thought Canelo fought admirably, and did extremely well for himself. But still, in no way did I think he did enough to earn the victory.

Well that would have been an even bigger travesty, had that happened.

But, collectively, they gave him a draw, and I don't think he came close to meriting that either.

A couple of years ago it would be competitive but a Ward win. GGG has declined a bit and today it would be a fairly easy Ward win.

GGG is not a particularly big middleweight and Ward simply is too big for him. I think GGG would struggle with any of the bigger top Super Middles of the last decade, let alone the elite one in Ward.

If Team Triple Duck really believed that their fighter were "head and shoulders above the rest of his class" then they would have taken the Ward fight when it was there for them. The fact that they openly ducked Ward speaks VOLUMES about the confidence they have in their man. However, it was a smart move on their part. Ward would have ended Bumlovkin's career in much the same way he ended the TOMATO KAN Krusher's...

Ward TKO's GGG. Ward loves in fighting.. Canelo doesn't. Ward would rough GGG up.. He's too small. There's a reason why GGG wanted no parts of this in his prime

I just want to see it just to see his fanbase gasp in horror as Ward re-arranges Golovkin's organs like he did Kovalev's. I don't even have a problem with GGG ,just his fans who boosted him up and then as soon as you say he should fight someone bigger they make excuses. Mind you that these are the same fans who wanted 147 Mayweather to fight Golovkin forever. Thats the double standard that makes Golovkin so many enemies on the Black side of town. You want all the other guys to move on to harder people but my guy can stay put, it's too dangerous up there.

Kovalev lost to corrupt judges in the first fight. In the rematch, SOB punched Kovalev in the testicles, Tony Weeks called it a kockout, Bob Bennett claims that punches to the testicles are legal, (only for SOB) Bob Bennett said tonight that he picked Byrd as the judge, that she has never had a bad decision until tonight, he even tried to lie out of that..........................SOB did not win, he cheated, the pictures prove it and so does the video, show me where it says in the boxing rules that testicle blows are legal, show me, I can't find it in the rules. headbutts, wrestling, elbows, forearms, are all illegal, but SOB does it all the time, buying your own judges, referee, boxing commission is not legal either. Nobody should ever fight SOB again. HBO lost money on SOB, now SOB wants to fight winos from the alley, but HBO said NO! I just want to see SOB get squashed by Joshua, SOB said he would easily out box Joshua, but where is that fight he promised? He could fight Usyk, but again, SOB needs to have his Venue, his judges, his referee, boxing commission and all the money..................SOB is an sob!

wants to fight unranked winos for millions on HBO, HBO said NO!

The Ward who fought Kessler and Froch would have lost to 30 year old GGG, imo
Both Froch and Kessler would lose to 30 year old GGG as well, imo.

The LHW version of Ward, and 35/36 year old GGG is a mismatch, back than it was 50/50.

Like, to me GGG would have knocked out Hopkins at MW/SMW, but lost at 175lbs to even old Hopkins.

    Same with Froch, and Ward.
