Canelo was magnificent. In defeat he showed he is a big player at 160. Would love to see him in there with the other big players in this division after falling short but nowhere near as short as i exptected against the best of the division. But who is guna want to go anywhere near him and Oscar and Vegas and GBP now. Things have been said about GBP and the judging, reffing, drug testing and many other questionable things for years and as time goes on the more it seems to happen and the more blatent it seems to be.
Why would he retire with Vegas on his side? He's the big Mexican cash cow, the hero to one of the biggest ethnic demographics in boxing. Why the hell would he retire when still at the top of his game, able to make 10s of millions still, had the establishment backing him. Last night was BS. But what an incredibly silly suggestion.
That's what I'm saying... Pretty much every opponent moving forward knows that they're up against a 118-110 card at minimum.
Because they forgot about the Lara, Mayweather, and Cotto scorecards... This one will always be remembered.
even if you think he lost he did alot better then you all expected him to be, whens the last time GGG has not dropped a guy in a fight let alone stopped or made it one sided ? canelos upperbody movement nullified so much of GGG's power, retire at the age of what ? 26 or 27? what a joke
he wont retire lol... you literally got to knock him out to beat him on scorecards. he knows that going into everyfight. all hes gotta do is last 12 rounds.... but hes been boxing pro since hes 15... I see some bad beatings for him by the time hes 33-35 ... which will be enjoyable to watch after all these scorecard gifts vs ggg lara and cotto lol.
This is a it much. Nelo gave a very good account of himself. He's a stellar boxer who could beat most of the top middleweights out there.....he just lost to GGG who is the best of the crop. Styles make fights and his style struggled with the style GGG has. Too much intelligent pressure, behind a piston like Jab and Alvarez didn't have enough power or stamina to keep Golovkin off of him. But he did better than everyone else who lost to GGG...outside of maybe Jacobs
Look I thought GGG won the fight and was outraged by the decision but let's not forget Canelo is a hell of a fighter. At times he was excellent last night, problem was it was few and far between. Canelo is easily still top 10 pound for pound
