I had it 8 rounds to 4 same as Harold Lederman, it could have been 9 rounds to 3 actually, but I thought 8 rounds to 4 was fair. Vegas is corrupt!
That's an exaggeration. The rounds that he did that, the judges scored for G. Besides, with G being the destroyer, it was his job to cut off the ring and make Canelo pay. He never really made Canelo pay, Canelo always had an answer when G came forward.
Just don't tell that to the Canelo fans. They still claim Canelo won. They even go as far as saying he won because TV Azteca scored it in favor of Canelo but when TV Azteca scored it in favor of Cotto when he fought Canelo, TV Azteca was wrong.
When they both were at the centre of the ring Canelo has the upper hand, fluid faster combo and GGG has to react and defend. Canelo is a lazy fighter, great talent but on Saturday night he just didn't have enough work rate in most of the rounds. Round 1 is close, canelo won 2-3 and fight in spurts in round 4-9 winning the exchange average 30 seconds. Round 10-12 were also close. It's not necessary all Canelo.
That's a good theory. Byrd's scorecard is distracting everyone from the fact that the other two scorecards were also really bad. I can accept 116-112 for GGG, but anyone who gave GGG less than 8 rounds is either one of Canelo's close friends (like Oscar De La Hoya), or one of the "dummygraphic".
Hmmm, you're probably right, now that I think of it. Byrd is now taking all the flack from the press, and deflecting attention from the other two awful scorecards.
Can you imagine how bad it would look for boxing if Byrd and Canelo were caught having an affair? That would be grossly huge!!! And there's a love child?
Boxing is so corrupt today. The judge who scored the bout 118 - 110 should not be allowed to judge any bout in the future. Even Thursday Night Fight.
Exactly. Byrd's scorecard from Mars is beside the point. To really fix a fight that you expect to be a mismatch, you need all three judges. Oscar bought all three of them, and a key player was Dave Moretti who handed in a scorecard of 115-113 for GGG, to convince even those who saw GGG win that the fight was close. This fight was NOT close. One guy chased the other guy around the ring for 12 rounds. Canelo was there to survive, and he succeeded in that. He probably knew that that was all he needed to do. The fight was such a mismatch that the judges couldn't give Canelo the win. If Canelo had deserved 5 rounds, they would have given GGG his first loss. Instead, Canelo only got a draw, and that was in Vegas, his home turf. If the hometown fighter gets a draw or a SD win, it means he got beaten.
3 judges 3 different scores means a guaranteed draw. Perfect result for money hungry Oscar. If you wanted to look at it that way ofcourse. Personally I think that's a crazy Conspiracy theory. It was clearly 2 corrupt judges.
I feel the same way. It's like being surrounded by a bunch of fools. How can anyone with a brain think that CJ Ross actually thought Floyd vs Canelo was a draw? Or that Adelaide Byrd really believes that Canelo schooled GGG? Some people think that evil and corruption don't exist. It's called "normalcy bias", and it's a mental disorder.
Moretti's scorecard served the purpose of making people think that the fight was close and "could have gone either way". He basically said, "I gave it to GGG, but that was a close fight." That scorecard in favor of GGG is meant to gain Dave Moretti the trust of GGG fans, so when they look at the actual score, they have no reason to doubt that it really was a close fight. This is a tactic that politicians and the CIA use often.
