not a chance he gets through another training camp without getting injured, his body cant do it anymore, haye will get injured or be gassed by the 6-8 round mark, bellew on points this time.
He has the talent to have done so much more, yet he's had four fights in the last six years, two of them against nobodies and none against a significant heavyweight. His career at heavyweight has been a waste.
2 bad injuries have hampered the last 5 years for him and he should have stayed retired after the shoulder surgery. He challenged himself and won a HW title... not many cruiserweights do that these days...
Haye should fight a legit top ten fighter. Bellew is irrelevant at heavyweight, and never was anywhere near Haye's level.
He moved the same way in his previews two bum fights on Dave. He was too heavy and thats what caused his ankle to blow out in the 6th round. Bellew knew he'd break down if he got him into the later rounds. His strategy worked.
I don't think it can be at the O2. Hearn said on IFL a while back that O2 was fully booked until the end of the year and the next date Matchroom have there is in February 2018. Of course, circumstances may have changed but given Bellew won and the electric atmosphere at the press conference in Liverpool, I believe this will take place in Liverpool or perhaps Manchester.
Haye could barely walk because of a injury. Obviously the only reason Bellew was competitive. Bellew was never near Haye's level.
I've no problem with a rematch, 'highest reward for the lowest risk'. As noted, I wouldn't doubt delays/injury. I also wouldn't be even be surprised if Fury calls out Bellew if he gets the win.
He wasn't injured until the 6th round. The moment his ankle went is as clear as day. It can't be denied. He was fit and healthy with two fine feet in those 6 round and he still couldn't get Bellew out of there. Bellew defused him with superior movement and ring IQ before blowing him out of the ring. The footage shows that Haye was not on his level.
If Haye is serious about going for AJ, beating a CW at HW does absolutely nothing to state he should be even in the same arena as big Josh.
Haye himself confirmed this in many interviews after the fight. Although I thought Bellew did really well in the first fight, Haye fought a stupid fight basically just looking for the KO. If they do rematch I expect a much smarter Haye.
