I understand your point. But this is a far more valid fight than GGG-Brook and Canelo-Khan. There is a question mark as to who wins a rematch. I don't think many would make a confident pick based on everything that happened earlier this year. Valid fight.

I think what the fights you mention all have in common is they mean very little in the wider context of boxing. Calling them 'events' is probably an accurate description (circus events better still). Golovkin and Canelo pulverising Brook and Khan was essentially meaningless (besides for the £, naturally). No titles changed hands, nobody went up or down in the MW rankings, nothing was proven, it wasn't a step anywhere for anyone. Just sideshows that only mattered as long as the fights lasted.

Haye vs Bellew is pretty much the same besides for the fact both of them have a good chance of winning.

In fact Bellew winning against Haye in their first fight did mean something. Owing to how shallow the HW division is, it meant another joke fight could possibly be made with a titlist. A joke fight that another joke fight is based on. A bit like the Inception of joke fights.

It should be thrown on a big fight undercard or put on regular SKY sports. Pay them what they're worth. But it will be PPV and hyped as something it's not. That's problematic because it causes confusion among casual fans. People think PPV is for the premium fights of the sport, the prestige ones.

So it undermines the already weak structure of the sport.

Championships, rankings, divisions, titles etc. become obsolete, it's just a series of comical personalities and "grudge fights" and empty promises and shameless misleading hype. That's always been PART of boxing, yes, but maybe it ought to be reined in a bit now.

Not really as Haye has never been a dominant force at heavy weight

    Sorry mate, don't agree.

Brook is an elite fighter, why is he being criticised for going up the weight classes to fight the best?

This fight with Haye is only going to happen if Fury beats Parker this weekend. Otherwise, Bellew's swan song will be a shot at the world heavyweight championship.

I'm very intrigued by this fight, very hard one to call because we don't know if Haye's body can cope with being a boxer any more. A fit & healthy Haye would beat Bellew with ease but that version of Haye may have long gone. We all know we are going to watch this fight, even those hating on it.

This was two weight classes against the most feared boxer in the world. No one is criticising Brook, I'm criticising the fight itself. Should never have been made.

I'm not saying it was in any way justified. But you can't deny that Bellew beating Haye made it somehow possible for a potential Parker or Wilder fight...

    Cracking post mate

This fight is all all about 10 mins pre rehearsed acting to reel the mugs in again for another PPV.

Al PPV does is make a few milionnaires and some really do not deserve it at all (eg Fraudley) while others such as Fraud Mayweather/Dealer Dosh earn obscene amounts of money for many fights which are next to zero risk and even recently for an exhibition fight.

This does nothing for grass roots boxing and eventually after being rogered a few times, the mug public will wake up and boxing is left way down the list of popular sports with years of damage done.

Never thought I would see the day when MMA is increasingly rogering boxing in the popularity stakes.

The Wardens, Hearns, Mayweather, Haye, Froch, Dealer Dosh etc all eventually move on taking all that money invested in Boxing with them.

The same happens with Football and people become very bored with the product.

Chelsea 0-0 Arsenal stinker at the weekend is replicated many times in boxing PPVs with either non title fights, real stinkers or one sided pony with recent examples as follows:

    Khan v McCloskey
    Haye v Fraudley
    Haye v Klitschko
    Bellew v Cleverley 2
    Fury v Klitschko
    Quigg v Frampton
    Mayweather v Pac
    Mayweather v McGregor
Joshua v Whyte (British Heavyweight Title Fight FFS)
    Joshua v Martin
    Joshua v Breazeale
    Joshua v Pudding Molina
    Eubank Jnr v Quinlan
    Brook v Gavin
    Haye v Bellew 1 and 2

Incredibly, Hughie Fury is PPV this weekend on Tubes View.

There appears to be no imminent end to Boxing's shame taking PPV money from unsuspecting mugs.

    Exactly.
I can't even imagine what they will be selling the mugs 5, 10 years from now.
Mayweather-McGregor's jumped beyond a parody of the situation, a bit like Donald Trump being U.S. President.
    It's a surreal situation.

And the problem for boxing now is that every current "PPV" boxer aspires to being "the next Mayweather".
Joshua's already talking about getting an MMA fighter in the boxing ring sometime.
But with the UK market, it's just as likely to be a Rugby player ... or Rio Ferdinand.

The only ppv in the uk which i found acceptable and worth it was Joshua v klitschko.Multiple factors,at wembley,Heavyweight Title, with joshua, guarantee of excitement. But even with that one their was a question of too young v too old.Every Hearn PPV has a negative or question mark around it.When was the last time we saw a ppv where two world class boxers,no 1 and 2 in their divison at their peak go head to head and wasnt a stinker?Even Brook Spence didnt have to be ppv,at this stage in his career Errol was primarily focused on getting the title,he would've came over regardless of ppv or not and their was a chance he could be unproven but hearn still took the risk because of every promoter's favourite three word PPV.

Haye will probably get injured again in the rematch.

A lot of question marks surrounding the first fight, so the rematch was inevitable.

Interesting to see whether Haye's body will hold up in training camp....
