14 is a good age, manyyyy legendary fighters have even started later e.g bernard hopkins, sonny liston, joe frazier, george foreman, joe louis and the list goes on, iron mike got introduced to cus damato when he was 13 and a half - 14. dont wait tho, start now and put in the work.

Too late. You get beat up guys who started at age 7. Don't get brain damage for youself, boxing is dangerous for your health. Unless you are natural talent like Anthony Joshua or George Forema then give it a go, but even then you could choose other sport become NFL star or something.

14 isn't too late, even to become world champion if that's your goal. Badou Jack started at 18 and there is many other examples of boxers staring way later then 14.

You routinely give trash advice. I have a high tolerance level but having to read your posts over and over in this section is really getting annoying. Please go back to the GB forum where knowledge is low and opinions are high.

Just warned the op about the dangers of getting braing damage etc. If he is average Joe I don't recommend boxing, but if he feels like he is the natural genetic freak like Ibeabuchi or Foreman, then give it a go and see how well you do.

Boxing is also about being a warrior. We don't know if op has Warrior in his soul. Its his business and we just try to answer his question.

And if he's really serious about the sport. Then our answers shouldn't even matter. He just should ignore the negative advices and do what he wants.

    ^^^Absolutely...

You want the absolute truth? Here it is...

If the opinions of strangers on an internet forum determine whether or not you do it...then....it ain't for you.

On the other hand, if you are gonna do it despite what people say, then it's a start.

This is exactly why we respond the way we do, to this question that we hear all the time. Almost entirely from people 17 and under (ironically). We're actually 'helping' shorten the process of finding out what you already know.

I've never been a standout boxer. I only won half my fights.
But if I listened to people tell me I was too old, I would never have started at 36.

As already mentioned earlier, many legendary fighters even started later, and 14 it's not too late. Maybe there is not enough time for high achievements in amateurs, but for professionals this is normal
