Duran at any weight knocks Brook out. At 160 lbs, Hearns knocked Shuler out cold in the first round. Yes, they both got robbed.

 

Fighters move up typically for two reasons. Either their body outgrows the division or financial incentives attached to bigger fights/weight classes.

Golovkin has previously shown willingness to fight one-off bouts at higher weight limits against Chavez Jr, Froch and even Ward apparently back when he was struggling for high profile opposition. For whatever reasons these fights never materialised and presently the middleweight division looks interesting so Golovkin will most likely retire at 160 after a couple more Canelo paydays, maybe snatch the last belt from Saunders and hopefully rematch Jacobs.

 

And at 168, no way either of those guys go after him, nor would he be able to attract the top 154 or top 160 talent up after him.

Staying at 160 was the move that made sense for both GGG and Hagler. That's how you get big names to eventually fight you.

 

The biggest fight for GGG in super middle weight is George groves in England.... That's the only fight that would bring a nice payday with a huge crowd...

 

Golovkin gets hate because he's hyped as a top 3 P4P, but has mainly fought tomato cans in one division up until recently. Fighters of the past always get excused because they're practically myths at this point, due to the time that has passed. I'm sure Ali was not exactly the most popular guy in his era, but now he's considered a legend and the boxing icon.

Brook has never fought at 154 in his life dude. How do you know that he will be better than Duran at that weight? That's like me saying Hagler would have been just as good if not better at 175 than at 160.

More often than not a fighter is worse when they move up.

 

After getting knocked out by Hagler, Hearns jumped to LHW before the SMW division was established. I don't know how the SMW argument applies to Hagler. Hearns obviously had the Frame to move up but if guys like Khurtsidze can do well at MW then why can't an ATG like Hagler who can't be touched by any MW in history not do it?

 

Ggg in the past was willing to move up at 168 pounds limit to fight either Froch or Chavez Jr but was scared to fight ward. Why I say this? Cause he would only fight ward if it's at 164 pounds catchweight. So he's willing to fight either froch or Chavez Jr at 168 pounds? But only at 164 pounds catchweight to fight ward? Smh. Ggg was scared to fight ward.

Because moving and fighting guys your size and has your power and your chin will test and see if you are that talented and that great . Losing all that weight to take advantage of your ability to diet and still keep your power and fight smaller men is not a test of his true greatness . Why cause GGG was fighting at middle weight at the age of 15 years old so we can all agree he is not a true middle weight he is a light heavyweight fighting middle weight fighters and fighting welter weight fighters moving up.

Cause there's are no super-talented, middle weight champions at this time in this ERA of boxing, he has no one that is out of this world great at middle weight at this time IE we don't have any Roy Jones Jr's no James Toney's no Hopkins no Heärns and on and on.

So him fighting at a weight that he fought at the age of 15 years old is not his true weight as a grown man at the age of 30 plus .

We want him to test himself before he retires to see if he is the boogieman his team and his fans say he is knocking out light heavyweights and hitting like a cruiser weight .
