Hughie moved a lot, flicked out a few jabs a minute, a lot of them missing. Parker came forward the whole fight, missed a lot but never really made to pay, landed some nice hooks and straight rights.

Parker won 7-5 for me.

 

Well, finally watched the fight. Them 2 wide scorecards were ridiculous, much like the scorecard last week for Canelo. I’m really fed up of fights getting ruined by these judges whom i often wonder if they’ve had their eyes painted on.

Hughie’s footwork, his whole movement actually, was quality. He made Parker miss so much, in my opinion he did everything right defensively. However, he needed to be busier offensively. He scored some lovely shots but there just wasn’t enough of them. He didn’t apply any pressure at all. At no point was Parker in any real trouble, at no point did he have to cover up and protect himself from a flurry of blows. If he’s not going to throw 2’s and 3’s then these single shots have gotta have a bit more bite on them.

Despite all that, I thought Hughie edged it by a couple of rounds. He will come again, he’s only a kid. This defeat will do him the world of good. As for Parker, that’s yet another very ropey decision.

Luke Campbell lost by a couple of rounds for me last night but I have more respect for him as he actually made a decent fight giving his all.

Hughie Fury, the fighting man, the hard on pushed Parker on Friday then provided a real stinker and lost every round running away in a skirt flicking out the odd slap. We are fighting men growls John Fury - well why don't they ever fight fire with fire in the ring?

John Fury is an eye gouging vermin coward no doubt a bully picking on weak people.

Tug Fury has done nothing in his career to earn a Mandatory position, bored people to tears in all his fights and last night was another Fury stinker.

An absolute stinker of a fight. Both looked like they were wading through manure. Do some bloody cardio you lazy turds.

 

I don't think I've ever been so happy that I didn't buy something that I'd considered buying!

I'm so pleased Parker got the decision, even tho I had him winning by 2 or 3 rounds I really thought he was going to get robbed for being the away fighter. It's always a victory for boxing when the man who turned up to fight wins rather than the man running on the back foot trying to nick rounds by flicking the odd jab from range, awful fight to watch though.

 

3or 4 backhands each rd on the end of those jabs would of made that fight into a boxing lesson from hughie. Real shame he missed out there

 

Honestly huey fury has so much potential its unreal. Peters done a great job with him but its only half a job as it stands. The only thing missing last night was the exchange. With footwork like that...huey should be dictating exactly when to exchange and when not to. The problem was he never did exchange. Boxed on the backfoot all night or the six rounds that i seen anyway.

Needs a few things changed. And he,ll be up their with any of them giving time. Peter knows his boxing...but looks like hes needing a little bit of help with huey. No shame on that...guys like joshua/klitchko dont just have robert mckracken and emmanual steward doing all the work. But a team of guys at the top of their respective fields.

They need to build hueys body up for a start. Get a proper dietician s & c coach onboard. You ll only get so far the way the heavyweights are going without one. Bulk him up a bit with some muscle. He,ll still have speed. They all look like their quick on their feet naturally anyway.

People go on about power...but its not necessary to have massive power to stop guys. It never has been. Just look at ali. Hueys just learned to not commit to his punches. My suspicion is his powers enough to carry off what hes needing to be doing. Huey will stop people with the right style.

The furys should just move on now cause last night could be the best learning curve they ve ever had. They need to learn how and when to exchange. Peters backed his boxing system and tbf he knows what hes doing if huey and tyson are anything to go by...but he badly needs to tweak things now. Huey would be a nightmare for any of them if he just knew when to get in and out at the right time. Got to learn when to push an opponent back and when to outbox them on the backfoot. Hes actually frustrating cause its clear as day what their needing to do with him. The raw talents there.

I agree with all that, too. Definitely half a job done with him. Tons of potential though.
