Is Golovkin being treated unfairly when he doesn't win via KO?

You have Jacobs first who he was supposed to knock because Jacobs has a "glass jaw", because he has been stopped before.

He doesn't get the knock out but he gets a decision on the cards, yet, you had people claiming he lost that fight. While those people seems to have gone away, I remember them clearly.

Why do they have the authority to say they thought Golovkin lost? It is one thing to claim robbery when an opponent is dominated and still gets the decision, but its another thing to say that a boxer lost the fight, in a competitive bout.

Now we have Canelo. Its the same story all over again.

Its even worse now, we actually have people saying that because you can make the better gifs out of Canelo, he won the fight. That is beyond the stupidest thing I have ever heard on this forum, that was intended to be taken seriously.

I don't understand why we are changing the way we score fights just because GGG vs Canelo happened, unless some sort of bias is setting. Is there perhaps an anti Golovkin agenda lurking in the forum?

The fight was a draw, but nobody can deny that Canelos best moments was in the opening minute and ran for the last 2 minutes, but still getting tagged.

You have people saying, Golovkin was missing, as proof that he lost, but they seem to have reserved their critical thinking for Golovkin only, because Canelo was missing as well. If Canelo was landing every shot, Golovkins face would have been a mess, its even worse that Canelo was throwing ALOT less, but still missing.

The logical conclusion is that Golovkin was robbed. If your not convinced, go watch again. I did not bother scoring the fight the first time because I assumed Golovkin could only win by KO, but I did watch it again and Golovkin wins.

You actually had people saying that Brook exposed Golovkin as well. Yet Brook had his career ended by Golovkin, so I can see why some Brits might be a bit sore, Brook had alot of talent and now...that I can understand. I liked Brook as well.

Golovkin needs to win via knockout, otherwise he is 'deteriorating.' These people seem to not understand that winning a decision against Jacobs is as equally impressive as knocking out, say , Willie Monroe Jr.

One of the main reasons Golovkin has such an impressive knock out streak was because he was ducked for years, not necesarrilyl because of his power alone, but because how good he was in ALL AREAS and because he was not a big name either. I assure you he would not have such an impressive KO streak if the top boxers came for his belts years ago

It will be years before anybody dominates Golovkin.

While I believe that GGG is great for the sport, his fans have made it impossible to enjoy him and I have seen him live in Inglewood. The hype is good as long as you don't read internet comments that make him out to be something that he is not. Videos like this....

Would you deny that Canelo good moments were brief, and Golovkin was more consistent?

"B.. Bu.. But his fans make it IMPOSSIBLE to like him, doe!"

Lol! Spare us that bull****. Nobody makes it impossible for anybody to be a fan of another person. If you enjoy their fights... fans that praise that SAME person turn you against that fighter???

Riiiiiight. And I'm sure those same idiots that claim this just HATE the hype that Spence, Wilder and Crawford get by THEIR rabid nut huggers huh?? STFU

Lol mate you asking the impossible,Shadows a good man I've had plenty of these conversations,he won't back down and neither will I lol.
But basically with Golovkin it's like folk just don't look it him like a normal pro boxer cause if they did they know that pro boxing is beating those you'd expect and winning the big fights where undoubtedly getting the KO is always harder,as a GGG fan I don't mid that he's aged as it's brought the pack nearer and as James pointed out(another Canelo stalwart) he thinks Saunders could beat GGG and it's a belief I kind of think possible myself.

Lance I've always thought this and when I point this out they think I'm being funny but come on why on earth would you hate on a boxer who has no control over his fans, does his job in the ring and has proved he'll do anything to fight anyone inc Jacobs.
It's like saying can't stand Pasta as those Italian pasta eating fanboys have totally put me off,ok I digress but I believe Lance this was s what you're on about and quite right too.

It's taken me years on here to understand or not how some just assume I hate Floyd cause I like GGG and perhaps the best is how could I like Manny P if I like Floyd, what?

Another G victim thread. Is he not p4p number 1 even though he's here crying about Canelo not fighting like a Mexican and was moving too much.

He got crowned with a draw against a smaller guy that exposed a lot of his flaws. G is on top of the world right now with a moral victory and the consensus (the loud crowd) are mostly on his side.

The only thing that's unfair is he was blown out of proportion to begin with because even his supporters know he's not the truth and it's only a matter of time before his little reign is over.

When Manny was starting to get exposed by Bradley and JMM fight, people still had him #1 p4p anyways because the goal was to keep the Floyd fight relevant.

This is all that's going on with G.

He's still given awards and being credited for accolades he really doesn't deserve.

Still has a weak resume. Was proven to be the versatile inferior between him and Canelo but that doesn't matter. He still reaping all the passes and benefit of the doubt.

G is in no way a victim in any of this charades that are being played right now.

Only a matter of time the fad is over and then the next one to build up will be the focus by HBO or whoever.
