    No. European level. Gatekeeper level

It just turned out the gatekeeper was too good for the 'prospect' despite disgraceful corruption

Danny has never been "world class" and the ref saved him from getting taken out in 3 the other night.

If he got himself into top shape, he could still win an alphabet strap.

Earlier in his career, say 2004/5 ish, had he been in top shape he may have gone on to succeed Lennox Lewis - the Klitschko fight showed he had heart for a battle, but also that he likes pies!

Trouble is - he spent too much time on the domestic merry go round instead of maybe fighting 10 rounders in America en route to a title shot. The merry go round sapped his motivation and he lost fights he shouldn't have.

The Brit fight fans are still off heavyweight boxing as a result of the bloody circus.

williams probably has the raw material to be a belt holder but his apparent lack of discipline, stamina, and elite level skill has and will prevent that from happening

What do you mean is Danny Williams a world title material, he took on the whole country of Germany. Danny will fight anybody anywhere therefore he is world title material. If Danny can take on the boxer, referee, promoter, judges, and whole audiences he can be anything. Whoooo...Danny Willams vs The Whole Universe

as much as i am a fan of danny, he is no world class contender. he is too shaky, he always gets rubber feet in the first two rounds, though he has the heart of a lion, his chin and lack of preparation will let him down against a titlist.

I think in the earlier part of his career(versus Meehan , Shawn Robinson and maybe the first Sprott fight) Williams when in the right shape was World Class .

But these performances were few and far between and nowdays Williams isn't really European title level to tell the truth .
But he has still has enough to deal with the John McDermott's of this world .

Williams has never been world class. The fact he has talent is undeniable but he has never put it together to become the fighter to ever be more than a good domestic level heavyweight and a decent european heavyweight. He has lost to fighters that could never be described as world class. Julius Francis, Sprott, hell he was getting hammered by Potter even before he dislocated his shoulder. His defence is poor, his discipline is poor and he has never been a mentally strong fighter despite showing great heart on a number of occaisons.

The only reason he got a shot at the title was due to Warren getting him the Tyson fight. And he was getting punished before Tyson injured his knee. And we now know with hindsight after Tyson's next fight that Iron Mike was completely shot and couldn't even beat a journeymen like McBride.

Williams has had a good career and quite frankly over acheived based on his actual abilty but under acheived based on his natural talent.

No, Danny is not world class fighter, but he has some legit skills, packs a true HW punch and is a dangerous opponent capable of pulling out an upset against anyone when focused and in shape.

Just don't think he will get anywhere coming to fight at around 270lbs, 30lbs over what he should consider as ideal.
