They did it to Kovalev and GGG. Is Lomachenko too good for a judge's robbery?

Well in fairness to GGG, he's on the decline at age 35...but we know 75% of media scorecards said he beat Canelo. And he did.

Kovalev who's interesting in boxing may be waning in boxing deserved the nod in the first fight vs. Ward and was belted at the belt line and low without the ref warns Ward. So you could say the officials robbed him ( 10th round scoring BS ) in the 1st fight.

But what about Lomanchenko? At age 29, with his fantastic skills, is he simply too good and too young for the judges to rob him of a decision victory where 70% or more of media scorecards say he was the winner?

Irreverent and both fighters they were facing have never been stopped. If GGG was 2-3 years younger, I think he stops Canelo though.

But the question remains, is Lomo too good for a judges robbery when " they " turn a 8-4 fight into a draw or score a 7-5 fight the other way round?

I would say Yes, because Lomo is special talent.

GGG and Kovalev are special talents too.

Talent has nothing to do with being robbed on the cards, it can happen to anybody.
one Judge unbelievably had the Loma - Russell Jr fight scored a draw remember!

They already have. He whitewashed GRJ but got a MD. Lost SD to Salido in which I had a draw or a borderline Salido DQ. I think Arum will be careful with the judges here in this one going on recent events though.

When fighting a US or Mexican star in Texas or Nevada, all bets are off for everybody. Including our lord and savior Lomachenko.

I remember people here reacting that I was crazy when I said Bradley's US citizenship would trump Pac's stardom in their first encounter.
There was a thread fearing that Bradley would never get the nod if the fight was close in his favor, and I stated the exact opposite... we all know what happened.

Nobody is safe in Vegas or Texas! Nobody!

Ward won both fights because of hometown judges and refs. Canelo also had hometown judges (well at least two). As well, lots of people have a big financial stake in Canelo winning because he's a big star.

Rigo isn't a star and at the end of his career so I doubt he will have the benefit of a hometown ref and judges.

I don't think he's talking about the Rigo fight, but in general.

He was wondering if Loma will get robbed and I don't think he will because there is more financial incentive for Loma to win than Rigo.

They've already robbed Loma: go watch his second pro fight, in which his journeyman paper-titlist opponent cheats all night (including not making weight) and is given a SD "win".

You mean the same Kell Brook who's corner threw in the towel in the fifth round?

That happened because Loma's promoter didn't put on that fight and Salido's promoter did.

Against Rigo, a Cuban that has little to no fanbase and was dropped from HBO because he was boring... little chance they rob Loma against him. That would be totally counterproductive.

Precisely. Follow the money. That's why Canelo was given a draw instead of a loss.
