Ali was ahead on the cards but it was a grueling , ugly fight .. let's not skip over the first Cooper where Ali was badly hurt .. the Shavers fight as well but Ali was past it then too ...

Bringing up the scorecards regarding an Ali fight is virtually meaningless in general but especially at that time. He could have lost every round and still got the decision. The Joe Frazier fight had to go on. Oscar put up a good tussle.

That's just pure crap. Only a complete fool or Ali hater (which are you?) would intimate that Ali came close to losing to Bonevena.

As examples both Ring magazine and Sports Illustrated gave Ali 10 rounds.

Dick Young of the NY Daily News, A newspaper I read after all big fights back in the 70's scored it for Ali 8-5-1. Note however to those who do not know who Dick Young was. He was the lead sports writer for that newspaper for many years and a well known Ali hater...big time.

jimmy young, Lyle. He found mildenberger incredibly ackward. Jones gave him a decent argument but its over exaggerated. Cooper gave him a good fight the first time, maybe not his hardest but it was more than that 1 punch in the 4th.

Antonio Inoki, Ali's legs were never the same after those blood clots caused by Inoki kicking him in the legs for 15 rounds. Ali should have never taken part in that sideshow despite the $4 million he made, it ruined the rest of his career.
