Yes, you’re right mate. He has the edge with speed.

I think Jr has a slight speed advantage but GG seems to have a heck of a lot more power in all his shots. That I think will be the difference.

I agree, I think Groves showed an edge in timing last night, too.

    I d
i Did hear Coxs corner after rd1 telling him to slow down a bit and dont get too invoved early on, or words to that effect.
Jamie got dragged into a fight early on when he shouldnt have.
I personaly thought he was sloppy at times.

I also noticed Groves inside work. He obviously took a lot from Froch. He was holding and hitting like froch does. Seems to discourage opponents to want to get up close all the time .

Groves was much bigger and stronger than cox who you can see is a strong fella also. He was ragging about the ring throwing him to the floor. When I initially saw it thought it was pretty equal. Watching it back this morning groves was in full control and cox was just applying pressure without landing much .

Eubank has improved a silly amount over his short career. If he doesn't continue on his linear path of improvement then he is miles away from groves who holds all the advantages apart from maybe work rate . But even then it's debatable. Jnr likes to go on walks and showboat to rest so not convinced he's a total stamina machine.

It's also true he's never fought anyone live that has what groves does.

Cox landed plenty. Groves was more marked up than cox at the finish. Somebody in that rind was hitting him.

I think groves comes unstuck when he tries it against bigger guys. He might be the stronger man...but he,ll tyre quicker. Looked ragged to me last night. Was forcing the punches out.

I think eubank will chin him. Also think smith does the same. Dont really rate smith that highly...but not a great style for groves. So far we,ve seen him mix it fighting inside against smaller guys. Lets see how he gets on against the bigger guy with smith and the guy with better stamina in eubank. I say he unravels. Looks to me like hes struggling at the weight. Everything just looks that much harder for him nowadays. I think hes forcing guys out there early before the tank goes....hence the reason hes infighting...scrapping it out. No way groves should be fighting that way. Should be behind that jab all night long...sticking the right in when the opponent tries to advance.

Whatever about winning, by just being competitive Cox scored a'moral victory', because on paper he had no right to be even in the ring with Groves at all. Really for Groves to be happy with a performance like that against a guy like Cox he ought to have been clearly winning every round, and not had a mark on him at the end. Neither happened and this has to be encouraging for CEJ.

How do you see Groves v CEJ going?

Well the record says KO 4th rd . So it's business as usual really

Can't decide at all I keep changing my mind.

If George slips slightly and loses form and jnr continues his ascent I think jnr outworks him late for pts win. If jack couldn't knock groves out jnr won't either.
