I still remember back when people were bringing up Lara as this threat for GGG. I had the unfortunate luxury of actually watching ALL 12 rounds of Lara vs. a bum last Saturday and I am fully convinced that GGG (even at this age) not only beats Lara soundly he'll run him over like a freight train. Lara still has that habit of freezing from time to time and when an opponent gets him on the ropes. I can only imagine GGG not giving no room at all to breathe or move around while getting constantly cut off.
I only wish GGG fights Lara just to end that boring hypejob.

Lara fought on even terms with Canelo, and his style doesn't match up as well for GGG. Take from that what you will.

And Lara is anything but a hypejob. Who hypes him?

But Golovkin is at his absolute peak... Despite being a 35 year old boxer-puncher who's been in the sport for well over a decade and was an amateur for years prior to that.

Never said GGG was at his peak but he's not shot either like some of his fans made it out to be.

Lara is boring as hell to watch but his style is very effective, he is elite level. But ive never believed at any point he beats Golovkin.

Lara ain't at his physical peak anymore either. Body is looking older now.

I honestly wouldnt be surprised to see Canelo duck GGG by giving Lara a rematch. Physically they are mismatched now...and hardcore fans would excuse it.

Oh but Lara's faded to the point where it impacts matches. But Golovkin who has a style that tends to declines faster somehow doesn't. You are a hypocrite.

This is really a nothing debate of the highest order. If Lara had any intention of ever fighting GGG he would have moved up to 160 and targeted Jacobs. As WBA 154 holder, he could have got the shot at Jacobs which would have led him straight to Golovkin. Lara never had any interest in GGG other than using his name to try and attract a few twitter followers, as anyone with half a brain knows.

GGG's style ages better than a lara style, The same with floyd's style but that was more a case of floyd adapting to age, Lara's best attributes were lateral movement, fast feet and hand speed hes slowed down a lot with age rendering his style less effective, GGG's best attributes are pressure, power, and ability to cut the ring down, Hes never relied on fast feet or fast hands, which are both things that drop with age That's not to say hes not slowed down himself but like i say speed has never been his best attribute so he can lose speed and legs with age and not have it effect his game like a lara.
