I would've not let Apollo Creed take the fight against Ivan Drago after a long lay off. LOL LOL!!!!!!!! But with all seriousness, I think I would've had Tyson more focused against Douglas, maybe he wouldn't be in the situations that he is in now.
Mancini Vs. Duk Koo Kim (Stopped in the 12th RD. or sooner) instead of 14. (Even tho Kim never quit, and looked strong, simply based on knowing what we know now) McClellan T.K.O.'s Benn 1st RD. G.Ruelas Vs. Jimmy Garcia (Stopped before 11 RDs. or sooner) Chávez Vs. Leavander Johnson (Stopped before 9 RDs. or sooner) Fan Man get's blasted out of the sky during Bowe/Holyfield II (Before he reaches the ring and ruins this fight) ect...
Thats the ****in' truth if ive ever heard it! I most likely would have kept the World title from becoming splintered by the alphabet soup of bogus organizations.
tell barry mcguigan's idiot manager barney eastwood not to send his champion to travel to his challenger's backyard and fight him in the insane ****en heat in the middle of the day. jeez, has there ever been a worse piece of management in boxing history?
Expanding a previous post on this subject regarding Tyson, it would have been interesting if either Jim Jacobs or Cus D'Amoto could have stayed around longer. Tyson never reached his potential once they passed, he might have been an all-time great. Switching gears, I wish the ill fated Don King tournament on ABC never happened. That really set boxing back big time.
That was the first thing that came to mind for me too! And I would have loved to have seen that version of Ali box for a lot longer, but would we have had the Frazier trilogy and Foreman fight and the manner of them, had Ali not gone into exile? :huh
