If this turns out to be true, very clever by De Gale, and actually Hearn must've given the green light for this.If he messes up relations with Hearn,he aint coming back on Sky.So i think he has said go on BT,as Sky is Filled up,this is only for one fight, then you come back fight winner of Eubank/Groves on Sky.But then why would BT and Warren want to help one of Sky's Fighters.
i doubt eubank will box on a frank warren show, also it isnt confirmed as a long tern deal with degale, atm its just 1 fight.
I have said this aswell, outside of the Heavyweights their is no depth in his stable. You look at Golden Boy,Canelo is their Joshua, but then they got good support fighters, Linares etc.Haymon has bunches of Elite fighters. If i was Hearn,Eubank Jr(Improve relations with Sr)Josh Taylor. Two Talents which i believe he can entice with his Plan.He has said he likes to invest,as he can get the rewards later on,them two are good investments.
That's right, fight by fight. I think Warren might be willing to give more control to the Eubanks than Eddie was, for whatever that might be worth
Yep, agreed Hearn should go all in for Josh Taylor and Eubank. I mean Eddies own business manager is in a relationship with Snrs daughter so the situation can’t be that bad
my thought exactly. only thing i can think of is that he hopes this card will bring in more subscribers so that would effectively be PPV, coz i doubt those people will keep their subscription after it. that does seem illogical though due to the risk
Come on mate,We've seen worse,at least the truth is all out about Frank And Eubank's daughter. They can start building a Eubank empire at Matchroom.Eubanks love money,Edward Loves money,Match made in Money Heaven.
Why would Eubank leave ITV tho... DeGale potentially a free agent aswell they could both earn a packet on itv independently from frank or Eddie
If Eubank wants to hit the big time he has to leave ITV and go to Sky. Just imagine the numbers Groves vs Eubank would do if it was a Hearn show on Sky, I don't think it will do that good numbers on ITV Box office because they don't know how to promote a fight / do a build up and isn't a popular platform for sports fans. ITV have probably been operating at a loss so far for boxing.
I just think of this Itv Rubbish as a hint to Sky what they are missing out on.They have missed out on Groves v Eubank.I think Eubank is just waiting for Hearn to call him up again, and make sure it's different this time around.Hearn needs to have backup fighters, his big events all rely on Joshua.
The Eubanks are still on good terms with Barry Hearn, he was trying to make the Degale fight for them after the Quinlan fight. Eddie is the face of Matchroom but Barry still makes many of the big decisions behind the scenes I believe. I would say there will need to be a huge amount of water under the bridge for the Eubanks and Warren to repair their working relationship. Never say never, but it seems very unlikely that they will ever work together again. I think it would almost need to be a necessity from one or both's POV. CEJ is building steam but he is nowhere near the draw he could be. He hasn't had that big break through win, and Groves+Smith combined would probably move his stocks up a huge amount. He has a good chance of beating both but the odds obviously lessen doing it consecutively. Groves to me seems like the easier fight, I rate Smith much higher than most seem to. Smith is so big and strong, he is a brutal body puncher and I don't see too many flaws to be honest. I think beating Groves would bring more accolades though
have you not seen some of the interview with warren talking about eubank? warren absolutley hates them especially after messing them around with saunders and pulling out of the langford fight and then warren suing them, and the whole point of the eubanks being on itv is so that they dont need a promoter and they can be in charge of their career. I see degale fighting eubank on itv ppv next year, not a chance eubank goes on bt sport/boxnation to be on warren's show.
Degale was marketed completely wrong and was unlucky to come to the pro ranks just as the tides were shifting between promotional companies. Matchroom was only just beginning to grow a stable and was still filling TV dates with cheap prizefighter shows. Mr W was struggling financially and was losing TV platforms hand over fist. Ultimately there just wasn't enough money behind British boxing outside of Hatton and Calzaghe, who had begun to promote themselves. The 2008 GB team stirred enough interest for Joe public to really get behind the 2012 team and it proved successful. Say what you will of the Hearns but they have really elevated the sport in this country and are creating several crossover stars. Some may argue that Degale would have been hard to market due to his persona but he could've been media coached and sold to the public just as well as any other gold medalist. In what world would an a gold medalist get less exposure than a former team mate like Frankie Gavin who wasn't dedicated enough to make weight for the tournament? In the cold light of day, is he any more irritating than kell Brook? As controversial as Eubank? As thick or boring as Flanagan? Has he ducked a fight? Been overly disrespectful of an opponent? No to all of the above. The guy deserves a lot more credit and exposure than he's had and other than poor luck in terms of timing, I'm at a loss to explain why.
