If Stiverne had come into the fight in shape instead of super fat, if Stiverne had faced a couple of solid opponants and beaten them in the last couple of years, if in any shape or form Stiverne was seen as a relevent fighter at the top end of the heavyweight division by anyone other than some wanker at the WBC who has just had his pocket lined,

It would of been a cool knock out.

Stiverne was a totally unjustifiable challenger, even if he'd been in the best shape of his life.

    2 years without a fight.

His last fight (november 2015) was a horrible 10 round win over Derrick Rossy, who managed to drop him.
The fight before that (january 2015) was the 12 round drubbing at hands of Wilder.

His last half-decent win over Arreola (also past it at the time) was in MAY 2014.
    3 1/2 years ago.

    2 years without a fight.
    39 years old.

If he'd been in "GREAT SHAPE" it would still have been an unjustifiable match for a "world title".

Sickening that so-called "fans" would be celebrating seeing such a fraud of a mismatch.

I'm glad the garbage got taken out once and for all.

At least Stiverne can feel good that he looked world class in limbo by the end of it.

You totally miss the point, I’m just not sure if it’s intentional or if you really don’t understand.

There is no scenario in this fight where Wilder can be impressive, none!
This is because Stiverne had no business being his opponent and Wilders handlers along with the WBC ought to be absolutely ashamed of themselves for making this fight.

I don’t care how theatrical his entrance was, I don’t care if Wilder used psychology to scare Stiverne, I don’t care what Wilder looked like as an athlete or a boxer and I don’t care what a pumped up Wilder had to say after this shameful travesty was over.

Stiverne offered nothing before or during the fight, he was no threat at all and was easier to hit than the heavy bag in Wilders gym, worse of all we all knew this the moment the WBC sanctioned this fraudulent farce.

Wilders stock actually fell because of this bout and there was nothing he could do to prevent that fall or the subsequent ridicule that’s following it. That’s because it was a joke from the start and if Wilder has any pride he’ll tell his handlers never to put him in that position again.

Wilder did look good but beating this fat, old, inactive Stiverne doesn't mean much.

And that's Wilders fault? I find it funny that Wilder is always blamed for the actions of his opponents! PED cheats get less critisism than Wilder? An opponemt comes in over weight and under motivated, blame Wilder! LOL let me make it simple for you! Just say you hate Wilder and will never root for him and will always find ways to critisize him! That way you never need to post about him again!

That’s like saying none of Tyson’s early knockouts matter, even though those are some of the most iconic sporting moments of the 20th century.

    Yawn, context.
Saying his stock fell from this fight? Lol.

Defending this fight is as stupid as defending Harrison Haye IMO.

Total mismatch and Wilder deserves little credit for doing exactly what he was supposed to do in getting this out of shape never was the **** out of there as soon as possible. So well done Deontay you've proved something we already knew - you can blast out plodding overmatched 'contenders' that pose little to no threat to you. Congrats champ. You're really forging a legacy to be proud of.

    You answer your own point,
Tyson’s early fights were learning fights for a young up and coming boxer.
Wilder was in his 39th fight and 6th as a belt holder

As you say “context” it’s everything in this comparison.

His stock fell, like it or not!

People dont like Wilder because they think he's a fraud.

And they think he's a fraud because he always always always fights the easiest opponent.

Dont believe me ? Just watch who he fights next

I dont believe one second he wanted to fight Ortiz.

I do know Orlando Salido wanted to fight Vargas after he got popped for PEDS. The same WBC let that fight go on. Why ?

Ortiz wasnt even popped for PEDS
    It was all a sham

Bermane was popped for PEDS a year ago yet he was still made Wilder's mandatory without even fighting

How many of you dont see the painting on the wall ?!?!

I saw the title and thought it's about Bivol.
Stiverne didn't even try. Thanks to Wilder for not wasting anybody's time.
The best thing from the fight was the tango Arthur Mercante did with Wilder.

Has anyone at the WBC actually attempted to explain how Stiverne became the mandatory challenger? It’s disgusting. There is absolutely no justification for it. Fighters get title shots they don’t deserve all the time but this is just blatant corruption.
