I agree. And I'd say, on his best day, Liakhovich probably was the best jabber he faced (at least that I can think of off hand). But almost certainly not when they squared off.
Deontay landed 120 jabs against Stiverne in 2015.This shows he likes the jab-fighting but a good performance against a fighter like Stiverne isn't too impressive.
It compares very well. His balance, height, and body mechanics makes it so he can sometimes be a step behind in mobility with his jab compared to the guys you listed.
Just look at how Washington was bossing him with the jab... Wilder vs Fury would be a embarrassing 12 round schooling with Wilder flailing around the ring like a novice.
in the stiverne fight he was throwing Holmes LIKE jabs with more power..thats only one fight though. His jab seems to be arm punches most of the time and more for distracting to get a right hand in.
Wilder isnt as heavy handed as Lewis, going to full chamber( throwing it from longer distance with more force) is the better way for Wilder to throw his jab bc it will be a more effective jab and stop swarmers far more effectively. He needs more velocity on his punches bc hes not as big or technically like a Lewis.
He was getting out-jabbed by Gerald Washington, so it's clearly not that good. One thing people don't understand about a jab is that however fast and snappy it is if the understanding and ability of how to use it isn't there then it's only so much flash and dazzle.
