Joshua vs Parker: March 2018 negotiations WHO Wins???

Didn't think a chance of Parker til the Takam fight TBH. Love Parker but he hasn't looked a world beater. But now given his chin, headmovement and potent combos I think he had a chance.

 

a 25 year old cant have a cash out fight lol.. your forgetting when he hits his prime at 29-30 wilder will be like 37? and Joshua 33-34

Give Whyte the Parker fight, it makes sense.

Joshua can fight Wilder instead which would be a huge fight.

Parker who is relatively unknown in the UK can build his profile stopping Whyte late, and it would be a good fight.

 

I don't understand how some boxing fans are now picking Parker over Joshua based on the Takam fight. It is literally the stupidest fight to base it on.

Parker struggled in a very competitive fight with Takam. I had Parker winning but only by a single round.

Joshua on the other hand easily won every single round against Takam, and had a miles better performance than even Povetkin the second best heavyweight currently active. And Joshua did all this while fighting with a broken nose.

 

Hopefully they will come to terms. It will obviously all come down to the split. The fight will be in the UK that's a no brainer, the money will decide if it happens or not.

80/20 while seemingly ludicrous is still far and away Parker's biggest purse, but it will take more than that to secure the fight. I think anything between 75/25 to 67/33 should be enough.

I think it will be a competitive fight but Joshua should have too much and beat Parker either on points or by late stoppage. Parker can't just walk forward and let his hands go against Joshua, he'll get KO'ed if he stands and trades with the far bigger and more powerful man. He needs to box and move, pick his spots and try to take the fight late. Movement, speed, smothering Joshua in close will be his keys to victory but I don't think he has the skill set currently to pull it off.

 

Joshua should win, but I think Parker will be the first fighter to take him the distance.

 

Yeah I can see this too.

But I also think Parker might be too small, as in, right now to beat AJ it seems you need to pop him from the outside (a la Klitschko) and I don't think Parker can find the right range to cause real damage, unless AJ gasses big time but then again Parker also gasses at times.

 

Parker will get his speed back and do to joshua what he did to botha,it will be an unforgetable moment in NZ sports history!!

 

But looks like it will be Parker v Big Daddy next

 

Tough fight for Joshua because Parker is a tough fighter, genuine warrior and he’s willing to take one to get his own off.

I think this could end in Joshua’s favour around round 9 or could go the 12 with a points win for Joshua.

Parker’s warrior mindset might be his undoing against a bigger and harder hitting man like Joshua, he might take too much punishment trying to get close.

 

Parker has struggled or laboured to wins against gatekeeper level fighters. His fight with Hughie Fury showed his limitations, jumping in following him round the ring not cutting off the angles and limited power.

I fail to see how he can beat AJ, he is a similar style to Takam who lost almost every round against AJ I just can't see how he wins at all.

 

Joshua wins the negotiations... much more money behind him.

 

Do you not think its not reluctance but both parties looking to maximise revenue ?

Its a stadium fight which means has to be in the summer, does most money in UK so has to be this side of the water and Wilder is demanding silly munny despite not earning over $2 million for a fight his entire career.

That all means 8 months to build the fight, if AJ fights Parker in the spring that means the fight is for ALL the belts with the winner possibly fighting Fury back end of the year for the lineal title ( IF fury is serious about coming back )

That timeline makes the most sense and maximises revenue for all parties involved.

 

Aj will probably stop Parker in 7 rounds, Parker doesn't have the power, defense or skill to beat Parker.
